Check Out Rawan Sharaf’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rawan Sharaf.

Hi Rawan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
For as long as I can remember, photography has always been my passion. From being gifted the old family digital camera before even hitting double digits, to getting my first DSLR camera in middle school to starting my businesses in early college. I was never seen without a camera.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a photography business was not a smooth road. Many business owners can agree with this statement; I had no idea what I was doing when I first started. There were many night where I doubted myself. I took many risks with investing time and money into something I had no idea if it would be successful. Not only that, starting my business while in college studying rigorous computer science courses made it extremely difficult to juggle a business, classes and a social life. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t change a thing about my path

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My name is Rawan, I’m a Dallas based portrait photographer that specializes in High school Seniors, college students, graduations, couples and families. I am mostly known for my High School Senior and College Graduate photography. What sets me apart from others is my attention to details and ability to capture my clients confidently which is what I make sure my clients feel the entire duration of the session. There are a few thing I am most proud of about my business I had started my own ambassador team also referred to as a senior rep program. it’s an exclusive team that allows senior high-school girls to get their senior photos taken through out the year while being able to build life long friendships with other girls on the team. I am also proud of the number of sessions i have been able to book over the past few years. Most recently in 2025 I was able to do over 175 sessions.I want readers to understand that while photography is a luxury service, it holds lasting value. Nothing lives on quite like a photograph as each image carries meaning and emotion, allowing you to relive a moment or revisit a chapter of your life in an instant.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Although it is cheesy, it is true, the most important lesson I have learned is to not give up and to believe in yourself no matter how hard it is to fight the imposter syndrome. There have been multiple occasions where I thought I wasn’t good enough in such a competitive industry but my family and friends really kept me going
