Check Out Reggie Jennings’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reggie Jennings.

Hi Reggie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Chicago and raised in nearby Western-Suburb Westchester. I‘m a former collegiate & professional football player who made his way to the DFW metroplex in July 2018 for an internship in college athletics at my alma mater, Texas Christian University (TCU) (MBA, ‘21).

I also attended Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) and earned a bachelor’s & master’s degree. At TCU I held numerous roles in athletics & student affairs. I currently work for a woman-owned Real Estate Development company as a Financial Analyst while being a Realtor for the largest independent brokerage in North Texas.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Having to find my identity after playing football for so long was a challenge. I couldn’t watch football nor did I want to talk about it for almost two years after my career was done. Thank God for a supportive family who allowed me to return home and figure out life. After getting my first master’s degree I was expecting to get a full-time job. Wrong.

The best opportunity was to be an intern. 26 years old, two degrees, former collegiate & professional athlete making $1,200 a month with no health insurance. While I was grateful for the opportunity, the privilege I had to go to school, and where I was… I had to dodge comparing myself to others and embrace the struggle. I’m appreciative of it, those moments among others built me into the resilient person I am today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a financial analyst for a real estate development company that specializes in affordable housing & I serve others as a Realtor helping them buy, sell, lease, and invest. I also serve as a campaign manager for a public servant (otherwise known as a politician to the common person). Adding to that, I’ve been a brand manager for various entities.

What I’m most proud of & what separates me from others is my education, the relationships I’ve built in Texas, and my ability to adapt and execute. I’m a winner & I love helping other people win.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I played the saxophone from 4th grade – 12th grade. Something about my brand… the Reggie you see on Social Media is who you get in person!
