Today we’d like to introduce you to Riley ANderson.
Hi Riley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Mineola, Texas in a family that valued hard work, faith, and relationships. My parents, Leon and Amy, were incredibly supportive growing up and set a strong example through their own dedication and work ethic. My mom spent her career as a teacher, and watching her commitment to helping others left a lasting impression on me. My dad worked in financial services, and seeing the importance of trust, consistency, and long-term relationships shaped my perspective early on.
I went on to attend Texas A&M University, where I studied finance and later earned a master’s degree in financial management. While at A&M, I also played offensive line for the Aggies — an experience that taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of preparation and teamwork.
After college, I moved to the Dallas–Fort Worth area to begin building my career and my practice. The early years required patience and persistence, as I focused on building relationships one conversation at a time and learning how to earn trust without shortcuts. Over time, that consistency began to compound.
Today, I work with individuals, families, and business owners across the DFW area, helping them bring clarity and confidence to their financial decisions. Looking back, the journey has been defined by persistence, consistency, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, especially early on. Building something meaningful takes time, and there were periods where progress wasn’t always visible. Learning to stay focused, disciplined, and patient through those stretches was challenging.
Those experiences forced me to grow quickly, both professionally and personally. I learned the importance of consistency, managing expectations, and maintaining a long-term mindset. As the foundation strengthened, momentum began to follow, and things started trending in the right direction.
Looking back now, I’m grateful for those early challenges. They shaped how I approach my work today — with humility, perspective, and a deep appreciation for the trust my clients place in me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At its core, my work is about helping people simplify complex financial decisions so they can move forward with confidence. I primarily work with professionals, business owners, and families, focusing on long-term planning, investment strategy, and aligning financial decisions with what matters most to them.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Every relationship starts with listening — understanding someone’s goals, concerns, and responsibilities — before ever talking about numbers. I believe thoughtful planning and clear communication are just as important as performance.
What sets me apart is my background and approach. Coming from a competitive, team-oriented environment, I value preparation, accountability, and transparency. I also believe strongly in education. When clients understand why decisions are being made, they feel empowered, and better outcomes tend to follow. My goal is to be a long-term partner, not just an advisor during good markets.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was competitive, curious, and always drawn to team environments. Sports played a major role in my life — my twin brother Austin and I both played football, and those experiences taught us discipline, resilience, and how to work toward something bigger than ourselves. My younger brother Jackson has taken a similar path, currently coaching and earning his MBA, which has been exciting to watch.
Family has always been central to who I am. My wife, Claire, has been incredibly supportive throughout this journey, especially during the early years of building my practice. Having a strong support system has made a meaningful difference, and it’s something I don’t take for granted.
Today, those same traits still define me — driven but grounded, relationship-oriented, and always focused on continuous improvement. Whether in work, family, or community, I try to show up consistently and do what I say I’m going to do.
