Check Out Sarah Sayre’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Sayre

Hi Sarah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
While living in a remote community in California, I couldn’t help but admire God’s handiwork in the mountain landscape. Looking for an escape from healthcare burnout and in need of a creative outlet, I picked up a camera. This quickly led to an in-depth exploration of photography, film development, vintage cameras, and building a home darkroom.
After a cross country move, the birth of my son, and subsequent health issues, I was unable to return to the physical demands of my former career. With the support of my husband, I went all in and launched my photography business in 2024: Merece Photography.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No one’s journey is smooth. Navigating motherhood, health issues, and the launch of my photography business all during a politically charged economic climate has been interesting to say the least. Each challenge along the way has provided opportunities for learning, growth, and honed my problem-solving skills.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My photography style conveys connection by highlighting authentic emotions and relationships. When I started Merece Photography, I wanted a way to incorporate both digital and film images into my business. Film has proved itself to be not only a successful offering, but a fun experience for both myself and my clients.
A project I am particularly fond of is my most recent offering- Monochrome Portraits. These fine art, black and white portraits focus on movement, personality, and emotion. These unique portraits include both film and digital photographs, composite images, and motion blur. Monochrome Portraits are meant for friends, families, individuals, lovers, and anyone looking for something a bit different.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Many blessings and opportunities have come my way throughout life. The success of my business is no different. I am incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to pursue a passion and turn it into a business. That is a rare gift few are allotted.
