Hi Selah Space, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Sure. We started our business, focusing on capturing the love and stories of couples on their special day. Over time, we established a brand that resonated with clients, leading to steady growth and a solid reputation in the wedding photography industry.
An incredible opportunity came our way when The Photo Loft, a well-known creative space, was moving and looking for someone to take over their space. We saw this as a potential milestone in our journey. After a lot of thought and prayer, we decided to reach out to them. They contacted us back, and we entered negotiations to take over the space.
Taking over The Photo Loft’s space has been a transformative step for us, providing a dedicated environment to expand our creative endeavors and better serve our clients. It’s a testament to the journey we’ve been on, from starting as hobbyists to becoming established professionals in the photography world.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course not. Owning a studio has been a whole new world with its fair share of challenges. We’ve encountered numerous obstacles, from dealing with things falling apart to managing guests who sometimes disrespect the space. Each of these challenges has been a learning experience, teaching us valuable lessons about resilience, management, and maintaining the integrity of our creative environment. While it’s been a bumpy road at times, every struggle has contributed to our growth and improvement.

At Selah Space, we provide a unique and inspiring environment for creatives to pause, reflect, and produce meaningful art. Located in the charming Kessler Park neighborhood of Dallas, just minutes from Bishop Arts, our studio blends a boho aesthetic with the timeless charm of the past and the contemporary, free-spirited style of today.
Our studio’s signature feature is the abundant natural light that pours in through four expansive windows, creating a warm, bohemian glow perfect for capturing captivating content. We offer free parking, an en suite bathroom, and a dedicated dressing/vanity room to ensure comfort and convenience for our clients. Our motorized backdrop system, with six color options, allows for seamless background changes to enhance the mood of any photoshoot.
Selah Space stands out as a creative sanctuary where artists are encouraged to take their time and contemplate their work. Inspired by the Hebrew word “Selah,” found in the Book of Psalms and associated with “pause,” “reflection,” and “meditation,” we designed our studio to foster thoughtful and impactful art.
We are most proud of creating a space that embodies community and creativity. With every feature thoughtfully designed to inspire, Selah Space is a place where creatives can truly immerse themselves in their craft. Our dedication to providing a welcoming and flexible environment sets us apart, making Selah Space a beloved spot for artists and photographers alike.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Absolutely, many people deserve credit for the success of Selah Space. First and foremost, I want to acknowledge The Photo Loft for initiating the opportunity to take over their old space, which allowed us to develop and grow this brand. Their support was instrumental in getting us started.
Kelcee has been a constant support system and a helping hand through every step of the journey. Her encouragement and assistance have been invaluable.
I also want to extend my gratitude to the numerous helping hands who assisted with moving in, setting up, painting, cleaning, moving, and stepping in when I wasn’t available. The Schoberle family, Luna, Gerson, DBanks. Jalil, and Jesus (not the Christ) have all been a vital part of this journey. Their contributions have been crucial in creating and maintaining Selah Space.
