Hi Silvana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Silvana Jim, and I’m a proud Mexican creator, beauty influencer, and community builder based in Dallas, Texas. When I first arrived in the U.S., I faced a reality many immigrants know too well – no friends, no family, and navigating a completely new culture. Instead of letting that hold me back, I turned it into motivation to build a life full of connection, community, and empowerment.
As a beauty influencer, I’ve collaborated with brands like Neutrogena, La Roche-Posay, and Skin1004, sharing tips, reviews, and honest insights with my audience. On TikTok and Instagram, I also share my experiences as a Latina thriving in Dallas, giving my primarily Hispanic and Latino community an authentic and inspiring look at life in a new country, cultural insights, personal stories, and practical advice.
Beyond content creation, I’m passionate about building real-world impact. I co-founded We Just Met, a social club dedicated to helping women form meaningful friendships through fun and empowering experiences – from brunches and picnics to Pilates and yoga sessions. I also founded the Amigas Tennis Club, where women come together to train, grow, and uplift each other both on and off the court.
In my free time, I love Pilates, yoga, and playing tennis, activities that keep me energized, balanced, and inspired. My journey is proof that embracing challenges with courage, creativity, and self-love allows you to transform not only your own life but also create spaces that inspire, connect, and empower others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Moving to a new country without friends or family was tough, but it pushed me to create community. Those challenges inspired me to co-found We Just Met and Amigas Tennis Club, turning my struggles into spaces that empower and connect women.

I am a content creator and influencer based in Dallas, Texas, specializing in connecting with the Hispanic and Latino community through TikTok and Instagram. I share authentic stories about what it’s like to thrive as a Latina in a new country, from navigating cultural differences to sharing practical tips for daily life in the U.S.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Dallas is the sense of opportunity and diversity – it’s a city where you can build your dreams, connect with incredible people, and create communities that matter. I also love the energy and creativity that flows through this city; it’s inspiring to be surrounded by people who are passionate and driven.
What I like least? Sometimes it can feel a bit overwhelming to navigate a new city and find your tribe, especially as a newcomer. But that challenge also sparked my mission to create spaces like We Just Met and Amigas Tennis Club, helping women connect, feel at home, and thrive in Dallas.
