Check Out Stacy Seely’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Seely.

Stacy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my business after a career in the automotive industry for 15 years.

As a single mom for many years, I decided to change courses, which allowed me to be more flexible. I graduated culinary school in December of 2009.

I wanted to build a business that was a place of refuge and rest for other women like myself.

I opened the doors to Whitworth Ranch Retreat in June of 2011. It is a full-service Retreat. We have 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, 3 craft rooms, swimming pool, and hot tub. We sit on 50 acres in Scurry Tx. We host ladies’ groups from 4-21. Whether you are coming out with friends to relax or are one of our many crafters, we have space for you. Our groups have dedicated space for meetings, hobbies, watching TV, or relaxing poolside.

I prepare meals for our guests beginning with Thursday dinner and ending with Sunday breakfast.

This allows my guests to be pampered a bit, even if it’s just a weekend.

We also host a monthly crafting event at Kaufman Civic Center. All hobbies welcome. It gives our guests a place to work on their favorite projects and meet women who enjoy crafting too. Whether you paint, scrapbook, make cards, sew, quilt, knit or crochet, there is a place for you.

We also have vendors that come and teach classes, sell kits and other crafting supplies.

We are also all about adventures. We host 1-2 art cruises a year, where we bring on artists to teach classes on days you’re at sea. We currently have 2 scheduled.

February 2022 to Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Honduras.

July 2023 to Victoria BC, Sitka, Juneau, and Skagway Alaska.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest challenge has been the Pandemic. As a small business, you have to be flexible and willing to change your business model as needed to stay relevant with the current times.

I use to only take large groups of 14-18. But due to our changing environment, groups like a more intimate gathering. I now host groups of 4-7 in each of our three buildings. Allowing our groups to feel safe and with their own friends.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a maker. I love arts and crafts of all kinds. My favorites are scrapbooking and mixed media. I love to create things that bring others happiness. I often make scrapbooks to share our family’s memories!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was born and raised in Fort Worth Texas. Graduated Haltom High School in 1990.
