Check Out Teesha Hart’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teesha Hart.

Hi Teesha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My name is Teesha Hart but everyone calls me Tee! I’m a licensed Cosmetologist I graduated from Ogle Beauty School September 29th, 2017 where we specialize in hair, skin, and nails! I remember diving headfirst into the salons of north Dallas bright-eyed full of talent but after my first year being in the salon, I felt strangely unfulfilled, not as creative, and overall, not excited doing the same wash dry press or curl routine every day. I gave it one more year before I ultimately decided doing hair full time wasn’t my passion, I craved to do something more creative where I could be trusted to provide a more memorable and exciting experience. God answered that call because 2019 came through for your girl in so many ways! I got so much closer to God and the universe around me and took a risk, I literally woke up one day and said I can’t leave the beauty industry I have to find my path in this or all of those school hours, time and sacrifice would’ve been for nothing. Of course, I ran this by my number 1 girl my mom! She spoke so much life into me that day and truly reminded me of why I even entered the beauty world in the first place. I love making girls feel beautiful and SEEN! Nails was my outlet! I did the hair thing loved it but needed more creative freedom Nails fit JUST THAT!!! At first, I thought “Teesha girl you crazy how you gon do nails with nails on already?” The challenge began… from April – October I practiced on myself, my friends, my family, and literally anyone who would let me. I took several online classes from nail gurus all over for product knowledge and beginner application and overall sanitation. It took me so long because I had to do all of this in my spare time, I continued to work in the hair industry until I personally felt “good enough” to start taking clients. A very long story short after my first client November 2019 the rest was truly history. I felt so fulfilled and proud of myself that day it was the reactions I got from my client and my online platforms that made me say I’m officially doing this. I quit my salon job and became a mobile nail tech I left it all in God hands! I promoted myself as much as I could even though the pandemic hit and I was afraid sure enough but I continued throughout the year showing up for my clients all over DFW! Up until June 2020 where I finally got my own suite inside of a salon. The rest is history I’ve been slaying the girls away ever since it’s truly my favorite thing to do I wake up every day so grateful for those who choose me when it’s so many amazing techs as choices out here.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A major struggle was in the beginning when I had to travel from client to client. Omg, I have so many stories about that alone lol but I would say it became a financial struggle to take less clients each day due to traveling anywhere from Frisco to ft worth the drive time, pack up, and set up started to become overwhelming at times, especially with small things like traffic setting off your time, not being able to find someone’s building, parking in a zone that’s unknowingly off limits and being towed, having to discount my next client for the times I couldn’t make the appointment time. Let’s just say I was rejoicing by the time I finally got into my suite space

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

What are your plans for the future?
Outside of growing all of my nail business platforms (TikTok: Talentsbytee, IG: Talentsbytee.ontheset, YouTube: Talentsbytee) I plan to put everything I have into creating my own acrylic line to sell to other techs and hopefully inspire them to start making their own. I have so much love for girl bosses I feel that the nail techs are redefining what it is to truly slay so let’s make more avenues for us to support each other with quality products and WIN! We need more African American Vendors
