Check Out Tiera Newhouse’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiera Newhouse.

Hi Tiera, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
It all started with my 501(c)(3). I wanted to start up a gym, so I filed to open Tiera’s Boxing and Fitness Gym Incorporated with Ahmad Alaajiy and Latisha Richmond. Finding the funding for my charity was challenging, so I thought to write a book to raise the money. The book was Trieshay’s Silver Spoon. It was a romance story designed to help others find love and to help fund the 501(c)(3). Regardless of the outcome, I began encouraging others to accept the flaws of people and to love past whatever people do. I believe there is power in love, and love is what changes the world for the better. After finishing and self-publishing Trieshay’s Silver Spoon, I decided to leak a story and vent to my team at Aspire Ghostwriting. I told them all about the situation that happened to me over this piece of paper. The book, Disorderly Conduct on a Flyer, brought so much closure to my life as our discussion about my situation came out to light. In the end, they helped me get closure and I say Kudos to them for following that with me.

After getting closure, I wanted to write more. Writing became an addiction to me, and another story finally stumbled inside my head. It was The Caretaker. I didn’t have a complete story, but I wrote so much that I had 2 chapters easily. It was something about life beating me up that I wrote a story to depict just that. Life beats Unicorn to a pulp! Now, readers are all curious about why the house is on fire, questioning me about whether those are those police sirens, and they definitely wonder who everyone is in the photo. Well, everyone has waited and they’ve waited for a great story!

The Caretaker is a story about a caretaker finding love. It is about a gang making a change in life that will better their situation because it’s not always all about taking from someone. Sometimes, it’s about doing the right thing. The Caretaker brings all the drama and slowly brings them all together in one big mess. Auden, the caretaker, has a resolution for it all.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has NOT been a smooth road at all. Making the money back that was invested is one of the biggest struggles, but I do what I love: writing. It gives me a sense of accomplishment outside my 9-5. It also provides a journey for me to share my positive side with others while encouraging them to chase their own dreams. I enjoy impacting lives to go in the right direction. Even though progress is slow, the return, in the long run, is undetermined like anything in life. Maybe one day I will get a bestseller? I will never know unless I put in the effort and try.
There were times I gave up, but I also hired an excellent team at Aspire Ghostwriting who never quit on me. It is important to develop a team that won’t quit! I’m glad I didn’t quit on them! I am grateful I met them, and they give me everything I can ever ask for! If you have someone on your team that can give you everything you want and ask for, you should do everything to keep them. Choose to progress for the team instead of you, and the return on the investment should begin to grow.

After some time and no sales, I realized I needed more options! I needed more opportunities. There were so many limits simply because I was self-published. I chose to present my 2 chapters to Atmosphere Press for a shot at becoming a best-selling author with them. If I could get that best seller, I could fund more books and do what I love; writing. That’s my prerogative.

So now, I am releasing The Caretaker through my own personal tour across America. I’ll start in Dallas, then go over to Greeley, then over to Nebraska, then back to my hometown in Wichita for starters. Hopefully, things get better, and I actually get to write my next book. I do have a children’s book on hold with another 3-4 chapters started for my next big release and I would love to keep everyone entertained.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I still work a 9-5, because I love improving healthcare! I’m also a Copywriter on the side when I create and promote my brand online. Although I specialize in writing books, I do enjoy copywriting because I feel I am using the degree I paid for from The Blackford Centre for Copywriters. I am most proud of my first book because I realized I could actually write 20 pages in a matter of hours! I think that was the day I became addicted because my writing still continues. What sets me apart from others is my understanding. I am able to see BOTH sides of the story and interpret both sides very well. I’ve been called noteworthy, a mastermind, and a great writer so far. I even received fan mail on my car, which I still can’t imagine who all knows where I live now. LOL. I just love that my writing makes a difference sometimes.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I lost my dad to gun violence during the Covid-19 Crisis, so I learned about putting the gloves up and putting the guns down with Ahmad. That was the motto for my 501(c)(3) that I dedicated to him; gloves up guns down. I was not fully successful because the crisis limited gyms to where many of them shut down altogether. My gym was one of them. Bringing in business during that time was just too hard, but it was still a great experience! I am still open to launching it again if I can, but for now it’s all about hiding behind a book.

The Hide-Behind-A-Book Tour starts May 10th and I am traveling to different states to get people to read again! Hiding behind a book came to mind as I was reading and feeling the safety that book brought to me. It brought me peace! I noticed how people would rather not bother you and will leave you to yourself when you read! Even when I saw someone else reading, I didn’t think to bother them because of a book. It would be great to see people reading The Caretaker, and I want to get others to feel that same safety net by bringing a book into their life.
