Check Out Tony James’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony James.

Hi Tony, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m an Entertainer by trade and currently also act as a Travel Designer with LTW Travel LLC. I studied Voice Performance & Theater Arts at Northwestern State University (La.) As a Singer/Actor my work has taken me all over the world. Mostly Continental U.S., South America (Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay & more), Amsterdam & Spain. I moved to Texas a Year ago from Louisiana. Hurricane Harvey & hurricane Laura hit my city within weeks of each other. It left me with nothing in regards of a place to live. I have friends and family in TX and decided to make the move. Since then, I’ve just been establishing my business here.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Living through a “transitional” moment in life always seems uncomfortable, in my opinion. Sometimes it’s downright painful. Starting over in a place, where you have very few business connections also adds to the stress of it all. Building up new clientele was my biggest obstacle in that regard. All whilst finding a neighborhood in which I would feel comfortable living in.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a singer and actor, but I am also a Master Vocal Coach. I’ve been mentoring younger artist & professionals for about 18 years now. I’m most proud of my work with my Pre-K students. Showing someone something educational in a new and exciting way is especially important at that age. Most times I feel like they are teaching me more than they could ever know. It’s my most rewarding job to date. My unconventional style of coaching is what sets me apart. I’ve worked with artist that range from beginners to advanced & I’ve found that it’s the building of confidence that was always most important. That, and teaching young artists on an emotional level that their works is IMPORTANT. No matter what the critics say.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I recently turned 40 & I’m excited about this new chapter in my life. I’ve been traveling the world again, this time as a travel advisor, and tourist. It’s refreshing to not have to wake up for a rehearsal or a promotional session. I can enjoy meeting different people from around the world and interact with them on a personal level.
