Check Out Valli Srujana Aduri’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valli Srujana Aduri.

Hi Valli Srujana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always been passionate about service, community, and the power of learning. Growing up I realized how important it is to have access to opportunities whether in education, personal growth, or creative expression and that everyone deserves a chance to reach their full potential.

Academically I completed my undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering in India and then earned a Masters in Electrical and Computer Science Engineering in the United States. Today I work as a Database Administrator and Architect in Dallas Texas which allows me to use my technical skills to solve complex real world problems.

Music has been a lifelong passion for me alongside my academic and professional journey. I started learning Carnatic music at the age of eight with Sunaada Bharati Smt Sundari Janakiraman a graded artist of AIR and Doordarshan. I went on to train with vocal vidwan Karlapalem Chandramouli Principal of Kurnool Music College and earned a diploma in Carnatic music from Sree Sharada Music College in Kurnool. I was also fortunate to receive a merit scholarship from the Madras Music Academy which supported my music education and helped me grow as a musician.

This love for music combined with a desire to make a positive impact led me to start the Saptaswara School of Music. The school grew from a simple idea teaching music with a purpose. I believe music is divine and through teaching it I can serve and touch the lives of those who need it most. All the proceeds from the school go to support less fortunate children in India so every student at Saptaswara is indirectly helping to uplift the lives of underprivileged kids.

At Saptaswara I teach students of all ages focusing not just on building musical skills but also on helping them develop discipline empathy creativity and focus which help them grow into well rounded individuals. Music has a profound impact. For children it helps with cognitive development creativity and focus. For adults it can bring comfort reduce stress and spark self expression and productivity. We keep class sizes small so every student gets personal attention and the best possible learning experience.

My family has been a central part of my journey. My husband has been incredibly supportive and our two daughters inspire me every day with their curiosity and creativity. Balancing family a career in technology and running a music school has been challenging at times but it has also been deeply rewarding. They remind me why creating opportunities for others whether through education or music is so important.

Looking back my journey has been about combining my love for music with a commitment to meaningful impact. Creating Saptaswara has allowed me to build a space where music transforms the lives of the students who learn it and helps children who need opportunities the most. This sense of purpose drives me every day in my work in technology in my music and in the way I try to make a difference in the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a completely smooth road but I think that is what makes the journey meaningful. Balancing a career in technology, running a music school, and raising a family has been challenging at times. There were moments when managing my time felt almost impossible, especially while trying to give each student at Saptaswara the attention they deserved and still meeting the demands of my professional role.

Financially, starting a school where all proceeds go to supporting underprivileged children required careful planning and sacrifices. There were times when I had to make tough decisions about resources or scaling back certain initiatives to make sure the mission remained sustainable.

On a personal level, making sure I could nurture my two daughters and support my husband while dedicating energy to the school took constant effort. It has not always been easy but each struggle has taught me resilience, patience, and creative problem solving.

Looking back I see these challenges as opportunities. They have helped me grow as a teacher, a professional, and a parent and have reinforced why the mission of Saptaswara is so important. Every obstacle has ultimately strengthened my commitment to using music to make a meaningful impact on students lives and the lives of those less fortunate.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have a diverse set of interests and roles, all of which are deeply meaningful to me. Professionally, I work as a Database Administrator and Architect in Dallas Texas, specializing in designing and managing complex database systems to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably. I particularly enjoy the problem-solving aspects of my work and creating solutions that have a real impact on how organizations function.

Alongside my professional career, I am the founder of the Saptaswara School of Music. Music has been a lifelong passion, and through Saptaswara, I teach students of all ages, focusing not only on musical skills but also on discipline, creativity, empathy, and focus. I sing and teach multiple genres, including Carnatic, semi classical, light, and film music, and I was honored to be the title winner of North American Super Singer. Working across these different styles has made me more versatile as both a musician and a teacher. It allows me to connect with a wide range of students and audiences and has strengthened my creativity, adaptability, and performance skills, which also enhance my professional work by making me a more innovative and flexible problem solver.

What distinguishes Saptaswara is its purpose-driven mission. All proceeds from the school are directed toward supporting underprivileged and visually challenged children in India, so every student who learns music with us is indirectly contributing to a greater cause. I am particularly proud of being able to combine my professional expertise, my passion for music, and my commitment to social impact into something meaningful.

What sets me apart is this unique combination of technical expertise, artistic versatility across multiple music genres, and a strong dedication to service.
