Today we’d like to introduce you to Vesta Schneider.
Hi Vesta, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I combine personal relocation experience with real estate expertise to support clients through one of life’s biggest transitions. Voted Best McKinney Realtor 2025 by local community / McKinney Chamber of Commerce.
My real estate journey began about 20 years ago as a real estate investor. I wanted to raise my kids and work from home; this was a perfect fit. As my husband was climbing corporate latter we often had to move, but I could still do RE investments from anywhere and work at my own speed. At one time we had 15 rental properties and have done many flips. We went from accidental landlord to having an actual business.
Now our kids are 16 & 18, I have so much more free time and we won’t be moving anymore. It was time for me to get my own real estate agent license (9/30/2023).
Today I bring investor mindset into every transaction, focusing on long-term value, wealth-building opportunities, rental potential, and smart resale strategy. I know how to prep the house to sell it quickly, how to negotiate the best deal for my buyer client and help investors avoid costly mistakes.
I am also the Owner and Publisher of McKinney Luxury Real Estate Magazine, I just released my very first issue (October 2023).
This new chapter in real estate has pushed me out of the background and into the spotlight and it’s both humbling and inspiring. It is scary as it comes with judgement from the outsiders, but also I realized that I am surrounded with very smart and kind people who are lifting me up everyday.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, so many! I’ve bought rental homes without fully understanding inspections or long-term upkeep costs. I listened to bad advice and trusted people who didn’t really know what they were doing — and I didn’t ask the right questions. I barely made a profit on some properties, but those mistakes became the best life lessons and shaped me into the detailed, knowledgeable Realtor I am today.
We’ve moved so many times, and it’s hard always being the “new person.” It usually takes about two years to feel settled, start making friends, have a routine… and then we would move again. That’s why I love helping relocation clients, I understand their mix of frustration, nerves, and excitement.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
When I work with clients I draw from my own life experiences, remembering what frustrated me and which agents truly stood out as exceptional. My goal is for every client to say, “You really listened to me.”
I always interview clients before we begin working together, that’s for both of our benefit. We need to connect, communicate well, and genuinely enjoy working together. Buying or selling a home is an emotional experience, and if we don’t click, it can become stressful for everyone involved.
I often encourage potential clients to interview another agent so they can compare and find the best fit. I know what I bring to the table, and I believe mutual respect and trust should be established from the very beginning. Sometimes, it’s just not the right match or I can’t give client what they are asking for, and in those cases, I’m always happy to refer someone who may be a better fit.
Today, I am incredibly proud to be voted Best McKinney Realtor 2025. To me, this means my community believes in me, supports me, and feels that I am truly doing right by people. Yes, we’re all in business to make a living, but I want to do it with a happy heart, serving others with gratitude and integrity.
I specialize exclusively in residential real estate, working with investors, luxury home clients, relocation families, and both buyers and sellers.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
There’s a saying: “If you tell a fish to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life thinking it’s stupid.” There are plenty of things I’m not great at, instead of forcing it, I outsource them. I don’t try to be a fish climbing a tree.
I focus on what I’m good at, keep improving, and built a career around those strengths.
I also know where my priorities are. I’ve learned to say NO to A LOT so that when the workday ends, I still have energy and heart left for my amazing husband and kids.
