Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Garza.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a huge passion for makeup! I was always that girl who wanted to match her eyes to whatever she was wearing, when I look back at old pictures I laugh and can’t believe people allowed me to do that! I started off by doing makeup on my close friends and family. I remember talking to my husband about my passion and love for doing makeup and he pushed me to put myself out there. I started taking clients little by little and they would refer their friends and that’s how I grew. I will never forget the day when I booked my first wedding! I was a ball of nerves but excited at the same time! I remember setting up thinking Lord please help me through this!! The room was full of love, laughter, people sharing memories, and happy tears! I left that wedding and knew this is it THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve been pretty blessed to say it’s gone as smoothly as possible. I feel like my biggest struggle is saying NO and taking a weekend for myself and my family. Learning to balance a full-time job, being a mom/wife, and chasing my dream as an Artist is challenging at times.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an independent makeup artist that travels wherever you need me to go. I specialize in bridal. I’d like to say I’m known for a soft glam with a touch of sparkle! I’m most proud of my love and passion for what I do. I’d have to say my personality and drive sets me apart from others.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’d say my luck would be my family and the support of my husband. He plays a huge role in my business being so successful. If it weren’t for him pushing me and giving me the confidence, I needed to chase my dreams; I don’t know if I’d be where I am now.
