Hi Vlad & Jasmine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In early 2020, we dreamed of having a studio that combined our shared interests in photography, fashion, and aesthetics. After moving to Texas, we discovered we could rent a loft and create the studio we always wanted. Thanks to a friend who owned a photography studio, we found the perfect space in Dallas to make our dream a reality. The Lightroom Studio represents the culmination of all things we love – aesthetics, antique vintage, creativity, and art. Our studio offers a space for creatives to bring their artistic visions to life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As first-time business owners, we faced some challenges in the beginning. We didn’t have an established customer base, so starting from scratch was difficult. Despite investing a significant amount of money to open the studio, we only had two customers in the first month. However, things turned around during the Christmas season when we began to get booked almost every day. From that point on, we started to see a steady increase in clients and a profit. It was a great feeling to see our dream become a reality, and we’re excited to continue growing our studio.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a duo of creative professionals consisting of Vlad, who specializes in photography, and Jasmine, who is a personal stylist. Vlad has years of experience in capturing the unique personality of his subjects through various genres like headshots, portraits, food, and weddings. He provides personal service and high-end production for corporate brands, startups, business publications, and individuals. Jasmine, on the other hand, is a sustainable personal stylist, content creator, and zero-waste advocate based in Dallas. She has a passion for fashion and helping others but also believes in social justice, ethics, and the environment. Her goal is to make sustainable fashion more accessible to everyone, and she does this by sharing her knowledge and expertise through her work. The three Ss of Jasmine are Style, Service, and Sustainability.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
As a team, we understand that taking risks can be daunting and challenging. Nonetheless, we firmly believe that taking risks is essential to open doors to growth and opportunities in life. As first-time business owners, we were complete novices when it came to starting our studio. Investing a significant portion of our savings into The Lightroom Studio was a major decision for us. Although we were confident in our plans, the first few weeks were a struggle, with minimal bookings and concerns about our studio’s financial viability. However, we persevered and now have multiple bookings daily, making a profit and achieving a long-held dream. Taking that initial risk has paid off, and we see it as a vital component of our growth and future success.
