Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into hairstyling started with my love for creativity and the excitement I got from turning an idea into something real. What began as an interest eventually became something I wanted to take seriously, so I started learning, practicing, experimenting, and constantly challenging myself to improve.
As I grew, I realized that hairstyling was more than just creating beautiful hairstyles for me. I became drawn to the artistic side of the craft, especially editorial, bridal, and unconventional styles. I wanted to explore how hair could be used to tell a story, express an idea, or completely transform a look.
Getting to where I am today hasn’t been a straight path. I’ve had to juggle hairstyling with university, work,and figuring out the kind of creative career I really wanted. There were times I doubted myself, but every experience helped me learn something new and gave me a clearer idea of where I wanted to go.
Today, Hairbykold is a reflection of that journey. It allows me to combine my skills with my creativity and explore hairstyling in a way that feels authentic to me. I’m particularly passionate about creating unique, artistic, and memorable looks while continuing to develop my craft.
I’m still growing and figuring things out, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come. For me, this is only the beginning. I want to keep learning, keep creating, and build Hairbykold into a brand known for creativity, artistry, and great hairstyling.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, no, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all. There have been a lot of times when I’ve felt lost, overwhelmed, or even wondered if I was doing the right thing. Trying to build myself as a hairstylist while also dealing with school, work, and figuring out what I really wanted for myself was a lot to handle.
One of the hardest parts was not always seeing the results of the work I was putting in. There were times I questioned my ability and compared myself to people who seemed to be progressing faster than me. I’ve had moments where I felt like I wasn’t doing enough or that I should be further than I was.
But I think those moments have shaped me just as much as the good ones. I’ve learned to be patient with myself and understand that growth doesn’t always happen when or how you expect it to. I’m still figuring things out, but I’m also learning to appreciate the progress I’ve made instead of constantly focusing on how far I still have to go
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I would describe myself as a hairstylist and creative who sees hair as more than just a beauty service. For me, hair is a medium for creativity and self expression. I enjoy taking an idea, experimenting with different techniques and textures, and turning it into something visually striking.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I would say persistence. I don’t think I’m the most talented person in the room, but I’ve learned not to give up on myself easily. There have been so many moments where I felt like I wasn’t good enough or things weren’t moving the way I wanted, but I kept showing up, practicing, learning, and trying again.
I’ve realized that creativity is not always about having the perfect idea or being naturally gifted. Sometimes it’s simply being willing to keep experimenting until you get it right. Every time I try something new, even when it doesn’t work out, I learn something from it.
That willingness to keep going, improve, and believe in what I’m building has probably been the biggest factor in getting me to where I am today.
