Today we’re excited to be connecting with Walter Frazier again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Walter, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Walter Frazier, I reside in DFW, I’m a UTA alum, and have been running weekly hoop sessions in Arlington for the past 3 years.
My brand is Goat It Foundation, inspiring people to GO AT IT!!! My mission is to encourage others to reach their full potential by introducing them to resources that help them prepare for their future.
I am a doctoral student who specializes in community engagement and understanding what it takes to be a transformational and positive leader.
What sets me apart is my mindset of being “Christ conscious and community concerned”. What this means is to hold myself accountable for my actions and move as an empathetic leader and server to others, while being concerned about the future of my community.
The highlights of my journey is being able to interact with young adult men and learn more about what they struggle with. Encouraging them to think about their futures and helping them understand that they have to take life seriously because we’re the new adults, mentors, leaders, etc etc.
Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Life is going great. I’m excited for 2025 and the future. Throughout the last couple years I have been working on my doctorate degree in Business Management and Organizational Leadership.
I have also found a church family so that’s been truly a blessing. I haven’t been an active member in church for over 10 years so it’s been fun getting back into church, studying my Bible, and building God’s kingdom.
Throughout the journey I’ve been running weekly hoop sessions, and it has evolved throughout the years. This year we are following the “Goat It Workbook: 52 Rules to Redefine Success and Reach Your Full Potential”. So every week I have been sharing a new rule with participants and providing them with questions that will help them off the court.
I have also been working on my dissertation so that’s been fun. It’s a long process, but I’ve been enjoying the research and knowledge I’ve gained from the experience so far. I also have been attending weekly Bible study so I’m hoping to incorporate that in my mission soon. I love building communities, and sharing knowledge and the word of God with people.
Alright, so let’s do something a bit more fast-paced and lighthearted. We call this our lightning round and we’ll ask you a few quick questions.
