Check Out Whitney Purifoy’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Purifoy.

Hi Whitney, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Starting Air Remedy LLC was born out of both resilience and determination. After leaving an abusive marriage while pregnant with my second child, I began a new chapter with the support of my mom and the arrival of my son, William. When William was just eight months old, I met Mark — a man whose hard work and character matched my own hopes for a better future.

Mark had spent years learning the HVAC trade from his uncle. When his uncle fell ill with cancer, Mark decided to pursue his own license and step forward as a business owner. Together, we took a leap of faith and started Air Remedy LLC.

In the beginning, it was just the two of us. We spent long, hot summers and some cold winter days in those attics, determined to build a business based on honesty, reliability, and care. That foundation remains the heart of Air Remedy today.

Now, with two sub-contracted employees, we’re still a small company — but one built from grit, love, and perseverance. Our story is proof that from even the hardest circumstances, something lasting and meaningful can grow.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t always been smooth. One of the biggest challenges in the beginning was the unpredictable nature of HVAC work — there were stretches when we were anxiously waiting for the phone to ring, wondering when the next job would come through. That uncertainty was stressful, but it also pushed us to keep going and keep building.

Being part of BNI (Business Networking International) played a huge role in helping us grow, giving us connections and referrals that started to establish Air Remedy’s customer base. We’ve also been blessed by the support of KCBI 90.9 Christian radio, which helped get our name out in the community.

But above all, the real foundation has been trusting God. Time and time again, He has provided exactly what we needed, right when we needed it. We’ve learned firsthand that He never fails.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Air Remedy, we specialize in residential heating and cooling for families in Fort Worth and the surrounding areas. Our work is about more than just fixing systems — it’s about creating comfort in people’s homes and making sure they can trust the company they invite inside.

We’ve become known for our honesty, reliability, and the genuine care we put into every job. What makes us proud is that we’ve been able to build a profitable business from the ground up, while staying true to our values.

What really sets us apart is that we’re not just running a business — we see it as a calling. As a Christian company, our faith guides the way we treat our customers and the way we carry ourselves in the community. For us, integrity isn’t a slogan — it’s the standard.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
BNI really helped us come out of our shell and taught us how to network, which wasn’t something that came naturally to either of us. The one-to-one meetings gave us opportunities to sit down with other business owners, hear their stories, and receive advice that felt like mentorship. And honestly, we’ve seen how God puts the right people in your life at the right time — many of those connections have felt like divine meetings.
