Today we’d like to introduce you to P$O Kwama.
P$O, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Wow! Um… my Name is Kwama “Kwa-May” I’m originally from Brooklyn, East New York.
I started tap dancing when I was five years old till about 13 eventually got into football and basketball.
I wanna say I started writing poetry in 3rd grade at that point in life I was too shy to talk to girls so I would write them a poem lol eventually I started writing short raps at the time I could only come up with a good line or two.
Later down the road, we move to Dallas, Tx I end up being cool with one of the homies from New Orleans who rapped he just so happen to have the home studio step up and I wanna say since 2011 I’ve been messing around with the music.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I’ve had a very interesting upbringing I’m first generation American. My family is from the Caribbean so that culture plays a big part in my creative process and How I approach music I pick my own beats, write my own hooks, and write my own raps.
if anything I want people to take away no matter where or what you come from we all have something to bring to the table, we all have a story to tell and I’m just trying to tell my truth.
How can artists connect with other artists?
Pray, and stay close to you’re friends and family. Take breaks away from music to work on other things.
