Today we’d like to introduce you to Adan Lopez.
Hi Adan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Back in 2018, I realized I had a knack for fixing things. I started donating my time and helping with tasks that people were unable to do. This was also a way of ministering to them and in one conversation with a 75-year-old woman, who did most of the work herself, she planted a seed in my heart. “You know that you can charge people for this.” She said encouragingly.
I spent 3 months researching and planning to start something as low start-up as possible. After a lot of praying and digging into the word, planning with my wife, and getting past the fear of starting a business I made the decision. I took a job cleaning someone’s yard and with that $175 I was able to get started.
I worked as a Handyman all of 2019 along with my W-2 Job to pay the bills. In 2020, a friend asked if I would work for his landscaping company, he hire me as a Business Management Consultant. Finally, in 2021 I ventured on my own, I am now a General Contractor. This is the reason I chose the name Lopez Family Services; I didn’t want to limit services.
A seed was planted and God grew it into a legacy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well, there were times when I didn’t know how we were going to pay the bills. I can honestly say I still don’t know how the bills got paid, but they did. Strangely, it was in a way that I could only point to one place. I have learn not to rely on my company to provide. God is my provider in finances, recruitment, and clients. Faith is what I started with and faith is what I’m leaving with.
We’ve been impressed with Lopez Family Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our family-owned business is a one-stop shop for all home and commercial needs. We have built up an amazing network of tradesmen who are very skilled at what they do. We have irrigation system, drainage, and landscape lighting services in-house. From new irrigation installs to repairs and maintenance, we will provide excellent service and quality work. We employ very skilled irrigators with years of experience. Faith, Bravery, Honor, and Integrity are our family’s core values. With these values, we will bring love and excellence to our work and to your home or business.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
We all take risks, all day – every day. Risks are a miniscule part of life. Now, believing in something you cannot see. To the point where it is embedded in everything you do, whether it be business or family, some may say that’s a huge risk and many may not take that risk. I say Faith is pretty much all I got at this point.
