Community Highlights: Meet Alexis King of A. Renee Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis King.

Alexis King

Hi Alexis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
A. Renee Consulting was an idea I had leading up to my college graduation in May 2022. I knew that I always wanted to start my own business, and I knew I wanted my first business to be in the marketing industry. Social media marketing was a skill I obtained during the middle of my undergraduate career through internships in the industry, where I noticed the rapid growth and the sudden need for it. Once I graduated, A.Renee Consulting was born three weeks after! There’s this quote that says, “You are your worst critic,” and that was truly the quote in the beginning stages of launching ARC. The main question I used to ask myself is “How will ARC be different from the next marketing company?” One of the aspects of my business that is super important to me is that my clients are able to tell their stories through their social media platforms. By marketing through social media, you have the ability to market to your target audience and create your own narrative for your brand. When working with ARC, my clients are my partners, and I value a constant positive return in the investment they’re making in my company’s services.

As of Q3 of 2023, A Renee Consulting has worked with 6+ clients and helped them reach over 6.35K% audience and paid ad reach increase since the start of service. This includes platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.

A.Renee Consulting has helped our clients increase their follower count to more than 300+ followers across all platforms!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
ARC has been one of the best learning experiences of my life because it has never been linear. As a first-time business owner, I am constantly learning new things about myself, the industry, and my skills. Marketing, in itself, is an industry that is constantly changing where you always have to adapt to a new market trend, platform algorithm, marketing strategy, and so much more. From project deadlines to administrative tasks for my business, everything has been a learning lesson for me. One of the struggles that I definitely had early on was betting on myself because sometimes, when business is moving so fast, you often forget to check if you’re doing something right or if you could be giving a little bit more. Now that struggle has turned into a lesson of knowing my worth and realizing that my business is ever-changing, which is always a good thing!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
A. Renee Consulting is a full-service social media marketing company that works to elevate a brand’s purpose through project management, strategic marketing, and more! We specialize in social media content creation, management, social analytics, brand development, public relations, and market research! At ARC, our goal is not to change our clients on social media but amplify their brand’s WHY on social media through effective messaging, compelling content, and positive return.

One of the things I am most proud of brand-wise is the way I’ve been able to empower my clients through my services. Social media can feel so complicated and difficult where you are going down a rabbit hole trying to create one post. Through my services, I am able to not only help but teach my clients why social media is still important for their brand and how they can engage their audience authentically.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
One of the most interesting lessons I learned due to the COVID-19 crisis, in regards to my industry, is how you can connect with people. It’s actually easier than I thought to work with clients virtually and create content. Since the pandemic, I’ve learned that consumers are more drawn to the organic “call-to-action” content rather than the vibrant graphic. They want to know what makes your business or organization different from the rest. The pandemic has forced me to dive deeper into creative ways to incorporate visual and direct-to-camera (DTC) types of content to align with the audiences’ needs.
