Hi Alisha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I had been following Dr. Sebi who was a well-known herbalist and self-proclaimed healer. I wanted to start focusing on a more healthier lifestyle living after contacting the flu (which was probably Covid) and I wanted to start applying herbs to my everyday living. One thing that stuck out to me that Dr. Sebi mentioned was Sea Moss. It helps to boost your immune system and it contained 92 of the 102 minerals that your body needs the biggest thing was that it helps to eliminate mucus which is what causes you to be sick. Shortly after Covid started to surface in the US I knew that I needed to start something. My Daughter, Shan who was also starting her business Sunflower Herbs was visiting a health store in Irving called Years to Your Health and mentioned she had Sea Moss so I purchased a jar and I was amazed at how I started to feel and what was coming out of my body. I continued to research & gain knowledge from other Master Herbalist and I decided to buy my own raw Sea Moss to make to help out some of my friends & family. They all absolutely loved it as well and then others were asking if they could purchase Sea Moss from me and that’s how A&A The Natural Way started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Initially, I thought that this was going to be a smooth road but unfortunately the pandemic finally hit the US and I couldn’t find supplies. Stores were closed & running out of jars, the price gouging on Amazon was terrible and the shipping of products were weeks out. I had other friends & relatives that lived out of town going to their local stores and collecting jars and other products and then there was a limit on essential products so for a while it was very hard to keep up with the supply & demand. We pushed thru the initial Covid Season and when the world started to open back up business slowed down a bit but my mind stayed racing and I was constantly coming up with so many ideas to enhance my business. However, we still have a lot of loyal customers who stayed consistent with their Sea Moss journey and they continue to purchase on a regular basis. Now that we have several variants of Covid out I am starting to pick up again and some of those customers who didn’t think they would need Sea Moss again are very consistent in ordering and getting the word out about our small business and will continue to be a lifetime customer.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Since I was young, I have always been passionate about any goal I set for myself and wanting a business that I could call my own. I remember when I was working in Retail at the age of 14, I made up my own business cards. I handed them out to customers to make sure when they came back in the store they would ask for me to receive an exceptional customer experience for their needs. I would always receive Employee of the Month awards just for being nice & helpful to people. Today I am the proud owner of 3 small businesses and I also work full-time for a Fortune 500 company which I will always have until retirement because America could shift at any time during these days and I want to make sure myself and my Family is covered.
