Hi Amani, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
As a former Chief Operations Director at a political start-up that grossed 5 million dollars in sales in just three years, I learned a lot about business operations and how it is the silent but mighty key to keeping business running smoothly. I worked on political campaigns all over the country, from US Senate races to municipal races and every race in between. I’ve always had a passion for helping people, and I thought politics was the way to do it. Over time, I realized that what really brought me joy was that moment when I could see that relief on a client’s face. When I could see the stress of a co-worker melt away because of an idea I had that could make their day run smoother. I found that helping people get more peace in their day was what was the most meaningful to me. Smooth operations are the key to that. So, I decided to leave that company and start a consulting firm. My firm’s primary focus is helping small businesses get the profits they want while maintaining the peace they need.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been much smoother than I thought it would be. I was so nervous initially. Starting over can be so scary. Self-doubt creeps in, and you wonder to yourself, “Can I really do this?” But over time, you see that those worries aren’t real, and as long as you believe in yourself, as corny as it may sound, you really can achieve what you want.
