Hi André D., thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story started in Tulsa Oklahoma (BlackWallstreet)… Born in 1963 to teenage parents, I was raised by my grandparents William Lee & Vernice Marion Brown.
Being them being older, I learned older values, honestly, integrity, hard work, believe in yourself and be of service to people when you can!
I attended the 1st Magnet School in Tulsa, Oklahoma at John Burroughs Elementary, then attended 2 more Magnet Schools, Carver Middle School and Booker T. Washington (Hornet’s Class of 1982)
In high school I attended Tulsa Area Vocational School my junior & senior years taking Technical Electronics where I received my 1st Certification in Electronics. I was also a part of VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
I was a college bound running back until a career ending knee injury; which made me focus more on electronics..
I attended DeVry Institute of Technology and finished in 1985; where I began my professional career.
I started out in the telecommunications industry working at Computel installing NEC 6/16 & 16/48 Key phone systems… I eventually ran the Adds, Moves & Changes Group.
I then went to work for Anser Technologies which manufactured ion deposition printers, I worked on both the system design and the multiple paper feeding operations including a cut sheet feeder, multi sheet feeder and continuous roll feeder. I also took the unit to trade shows!
I then went to work at one of the companies I loved to death… It was in Richardson Texas, called SpectraDyne (SpectraVision).
They were in the hospitality industry, providing pay-per-view movie systems to hotels & motels in the lodging industry.
I started as a design engineer, then Product Manager and eventually a Project Manager.
In addition to set-top boxes and video distribution systems, I also designed the 1st wireless handheld device to read magnetic strips (The predecessor or a key role to all credit card processing machines)… https://patents.google.com/patent/US5603078
SpectraDyne was the victim of a hostile takeover and I left design engineering and began what I was born to do….. Solve Problems!
I took my 1st job as a Field Applications Engineer and loved it; I worked with salespeople to directly remove technical obstacles keeping them from making a sale!
I would work with engineers in multiple industries from avionics, to blood analysis to cryogenics etc… I would look at there designs and find ways to improve their designs with semiconductors we had.
We would either reduce the size, or reduce the cost or increase functionality with components we represented… Once on the approved vendor list?
I would then have to work with the purchasing group to obtain a purchase order..
As a FAE I worked for a OEM (LSI Logic) in their communications division, until the company changed focus to Storage Products, then a Distributor (All American Semiconductor) and finally a Rep firm (ATS); I then had the opportunity to work in Oil & Gas which was profitable but too speculative and I felt uncomfortable asking investors to invest in wells to be drilled.
Fossil fuels are finite a globally we should be implementing more renewable & alternative energy sources.
Not being happy, I told my wife, everything I do for these companies… I can do for myself and I started Advanced NRG Solutions, but we ended up getting sued by a billion dollar company NRG; which made us charge our name to Advanced iNergies LLC!
We started as consultants working with energy savings lighting and eventually began to focus on power solutions and we are continually growing!’

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No journey is without its challenges, we’ve overcome financial difficulties, medical problems, deaths in the family etc…
But those obstacles stoked a fire 🔥 to overcome them!

Having the ability to provide for my family and help others in need brings me much joy… This I think I picked up from my grandmother!
As a kid I use to get mad and say people were taking advantage of her, but she would remind me this isn’t about them per se, she would say I enjoy being of service.
I didn’t quite understand that until I got older and realized I feel the same joy when I help some business owner or homeowner save hundreds or thousands annually or I help them to rely less on the grid and become more self sufficient and sustainable.
