Community Highlights: Meet Angela Germany of 4Thirteen Kitchen and Sports Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Germany.

Hi Angela, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am an entrepreneur in every sense of the word. I hold a Master’s Degree in Business management. With that degree, I have successfully owned and operated three unique businesses. I owned and operated a successful clinical research center in Kansas for ten years. During that time, I had the vision to develop a software application to help manage the business.

I moved to Dallas about 12 years ago to start that software business that is currently still in operation (ClinTrialWorks.com). I am an entrepreneur in every sense of the word. I decided it was time to follow my true passion, “bringing people together through music and entertainment.” KISS Entertainment Group of Dallas (KISS Dallas) was created in 2011.

The original concept was a way to host events that were considered “original and different” for the 35 and over the crowd. Then I recognized that there were so many independent talented artists in the Dallas area. I created a platform to give those artists a stage to perform. I have hosted tons of events that included music, sports, and comedy. KISS Dallas (my brand name) has since grown into so much more. Both of my parents have been involved in restaurants and nightclubs.

My mother was a staple and co-owner of an upscale supper club and my father owned and operated a successful restaurant and nightclub. I have always envisioned following in my parent’s footsteps and opening my restaurant and bar. I worked to create a solid foundation and concept for 10 years before launching the concept.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, not a smooth road. my main struggle has been staffing. Not being able to find enough kitchen workers has been challenging. I was very lucky when we opened that we were flooded with customers and it hasn’t slowed down but not having enough staff at times creates a tremendous amount of pressure.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Our concept is to deliver an innovative dining and entertainment experience that consists of an in-house branded kitchen, a luxe sports lounge, and a venue fit for live music! We want you to leave with an experience that will please all six of your senses. We aim to raise the bar for social interaction and service excellence; which in turn will create lasting, meaningful, and memorable experiences that will stand the test of time.

We provide our guests with a venue where they can watch live sporting events on a big screen, sip on a nice drink, chow down on amazing food, and then step out on the patio to indulge in an exquisite cigar (or two) or even enjoy a hookah all the while listening to many of Dallas’ amazing bands.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
With the right support, anything is possible. I had the vision and the plan but it’s only been successful because of the amount of support that I have been blessed with. Additionally, it’s been so important to be consistent with good service, drinks, food, and entertainment. People will continue to support you as long as you make “them” know and feel their importance.

We strive to achieve service excellence every time we open our doors. We have many many regulars that come back time and time again because of it. People love a sense of belonging. I do my very best to touch tables and meet as many of my guests as possible to let them know their business and support are appreciated. That makes a great deal of difference.
