Community Highlights: Meet Angela Nguyen of Angelasellsdallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Nguyen.

Hi Angela, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started when my partner asked me about my goals during my pregnancy, I remember my mind scrambling trying to find an answer because in reality there are so many things I wanted to accomplish. I made a list of short-term and long-term goals and promised to make them happen. Growing up, I learned the value of hard work, which helped me achieve my BA in Business Administration from SMU with honors. Despite landing jobs at several corporate companies, i had great salary and benefits but I wasn’t happy until I discovered my passion for real estate. Meeting my partner David, who supports and challenges me, helped me pursue my career goals. Even though I faced challenges like failing my real estate exam twice, I persevered and now run a successful corporate housing company with multiple properties in the DFW area with my partner, in addition to my real estate career. Becoming a mother helped me re-evaluate my priorities and business model, and I love helping families achieve their real estate goals.

It has been a life-changing experience for me. Adalyn, my daughter, has taught me to be more patient, compassionate, and understanding. It has also made me more driven and focused on achieving my goals because I want to set a good example for her. I want her to see that no matter how difficult things may seem, it’s possible to overcome obstacles and achieve your dreams. In addition, to choose the right partner because without her dad, I wouldn’t have been able to do what I do today.

Motherhood made me realize the importance of creating a flexible and adaptable business model that allows me to balance my work and family responsibilities. I’ve had to learn to be more efficient with my time and prioritize tasks to ensure that I’m meeting the needs of my clients while also being present for my family. Overall, being a mother has not only made me a better person, but also a better real estate agent. I’m grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion while also being a devoted mother to my daughter and a good partner to my better half.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

Getting to where I am today has been a hustle, and I know that it’s likely just the beginning.

While pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams, I encountered several challenges, especially since I was simultaneously learning to navigate a new career and motherhood. I didn’t know what I was doing and was learning as I go.. still am, honestly. Balancing the demands of generating content consistently, networking, attending training sessions, and caring for my child was no easy feat. I even attended open houses with Adalyn on my carrier, which may have raised some eyebrows. But I persevered through the tough times, and my passion and goals have kept me motivated. So, no it hasn’t been easy, but I can definitely tell you that my passion, my goals, and all the many countless wins that I’ve experienced and continue to experience definitely outweigh the failures and hardships. After all, I wouldn’t experience bliss without the failures and without the tough, uncomfortable times. The best way to connect the dots is to look backwards, so NOW I can see how blessed I’ve been, and NOW I know that future failures are actually pivotal moments in my entrepreneurial journey to achieve my goals.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
I am a realtor/momprenuer and Airbnb superhost based in DFW and the surrounding areas. My passion is to help people transition into a new season of life, whether it’s moving to a new city, being a first-time home buyer, saying goodbye to your home, leasing an apartment, investing in a property, or even wondering about how to scale your business. And as a mother myself, I am also dedicated to encouraging other mothers to never give up on their dreams, even if it means balancing entrepreneurship and motherhood at the same time. I believe that with the right mindset, support, and resources, any mother can achieve her goals and live the life she desires. So whether you’re a fellow momprenuer or someone looking to make a change in your living situation, I’m here to be your lifetime friend and help you make that happen.

What matters most to you?
In cities like Dallas, you’re ‘up against’ other talented, incredible people, so finding your point of difference can be difficult. Though once you do the work, you realize that the only way to be successful is to truly ‘just be yourself’, (as cheesy as that sounds) you realize that there’s no such thing as competition. Your lane is your lane!

I want people to know that my goal is to not just become your realtor for a transaction but your lifelong agent who will always be available for questions, recommendations, and for and all of your real estate needs. I prefer my business to be relational and not transactional. You are not a number. I am someone who is constantly learning and educating myself for my business and as a mother. I am relatable in so many ways while knowledgeable, professional, and will get the job done, and you will be at ease. Like I said, we make things happen together!
