Today we’d like to introduce you to Angella Adibu.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I believe that when you are doing what God is calling you to do, He makes it clear and opens the right doors. Cooking has always felt like that for me.

I learned to cook from my grandmother, and I am deeply grateful for her. She is the one who taught me the foundation and love behind every dish. Over time, that passion grew into a deeper vision: to help Ghanaian and other African dishes become as widely known and enjoyed around the world as American or Chinese food.

My goal is to build something lasting, an honest legacy that blesses my generation and the generations after me. I believe in the principle of leaving an inheritance for your children and your children’s children, and I see my food journey as part of that purpose. I truly feel God has played a role in this path, and that cooking is not just something I do, it is my calling.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has not always been smooth. One of my biggest challenges has been limited resources and funding, which required me to start small and grow patiently. There were also moments when people did not full understand African cuisine or its value, which meant I had to work harder to educate customers and earn their trust.

Balancing faith, family responsibilities, and the demands of building something from the ground up has also been challenging. There were times of doubt and exhaustion, but those moments pushed me to rely more on discipline, consistency, and prayer.

Each obstacle has strengthened my resolve and clarified my purpose. The challenges did not stop the vision, they shaped it, taught me resilience, and prepared me to build something meaningful and lasting.

Angie Winners Kitchen is a food business rooted in culture, faith, and tradition. We specialize in authentic Ghanaian and African dishes prepared with care, bold flavors, and a deep respect for heritage. Our food is inspired by family recipes passed down through generations.

What sets Angie Winners Kitchen apart is our commitment to authenticity and purpose. Every dish tells a story about where we come from and the pride we take in sharing African cuisine with a wider audience. We focus on quality ingredients, traditional cooking methods, and consistency, while also making the food approachable for people who may be experiencing African dishes for the first time.

I am most proud of building a brand that represents more than food. Angie Winners Kitchen is about community, legacy, and introducing culture through flavor. Our goal is to elevate African cuisine and help it gain the recognition it deserves, while creating something meaningful that can impact and inspire future generations.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like most about Dallas is the diversity and the opportunity. The city is full of different cultures, creative people, and entrepreneurs, which make it an encouraging place to grow a business, especially one centered around food and culture. Dallas has a strong sense of community support, and I appreciate how open people are to trying new cuisines and ideas.

What I like least is the fast pace and how busy the city can feel at times. It can be overwhelming, but it has also pushed me to stay focused, organized, and intentional about my growth. Overall, Dallas has been a place of learning and opportunity, and I am grateful to be building here.
