Today we’d like to introduce you to April Williams Moore.

April Williams Moore

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From a young age, I have had a strong desire to pursue a career in business law. During my high school years, I demonstrated academic excellence and was rewarded with a full academic scholarship to Wesleyan College in Georgia. I changed my major to Business Studies while continuing to develop my skills in the art of negotiations and contract writing. I eventually enlisted in the Air Force, working in finance, to serve the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives to protect our freedom. I have also worked at several Fortune 500 companies with over two decades of experience in Procurement, Operations, and Logistics. Additionally, I have my Masters in Supply Chain Management which allows me to understand how to provide alternative solutions when the answer is “no”. As of recently, I am a full-time Realtor with a mission to serve my community. I offer a personalized service that is tailored to each individual client. I truly love what I do! I am most passionate about educating my clients on generational wealth objectives and applying best practices to decrease the stress associated when buying real estate.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The challenges that a realtor encounters can vary depending on their character. This profession encompasses roles such as being a mentor, negotiator, therapist, and even a mediator in some divorce cases. It is important to be sensitive to the reasons why clients are selling/buying their homes, such as bereavement or a separation. Identifying the motivating factors for their sale or purchase will help you to better serve your client’s needs, which may not be completely known to them. You also have to decide on your approach to getting leads. Will you purchase expensive leads, work your connections within your sphere of influence, or will you work primarily through referrals?

We’ve been impressed with April Charmay Realty, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have in-depth knowledge of the DFW area, which encompasses property values, schools, neighborhoods, and more. I’m also well-versed in the process of buying and selling, including local and state real estate laws and common practices. Furthermore, I am here to answer any questions that arise. For instance, what is the contrast between pending and contingent? Why is title insurance necessary? How thorough should disclosure forms be filled out? I am a subject matter expert and can explain these topics with confidence and expertise.

What matters most to you? Why?
In order to be successful in real estate, it is necessary to be meticulous with details. A real estate agent must be mindful of their client’s specific requirements while not compromising their ethics. They should also be adept at transforming a “no” into a “how.” An essential aspect of my work is engaging in negotiations on behalf of my clients. I always believe in negotiating and structuring an offer in a way that keeps more money in my client’s pockets. Furthermore, it is of utmost importance to collaborate with the best lenders to decrease the risk of predatory lending practices.
