Hi ASHLEY, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Transitioning from a military career to the esthetics business was a significant and rewarding journey for me. After serving in the military, I decided to pursue my passion for skincare and beauty by becoming a licensed esthetician. Here is how I got started in the esthetics business from the military: 1. Identifying my passion: During my time in the military, I discovered my interest in skincare and beauty through personal experimentation and research. I realized that I had a passion for helping others look and feel their best through proper skincare techniques and treatments. 2. Pursuing education and training: Upon leaving the military, I knew that I wanted to turn my passion for skincare into a career. I enrolled in an esthetics program at a reputable school to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become a licensed esthetician. I completed the required coursework, training, and exams to obtain my esthetics license. 3. Building experience and expertise: After obtaining my esthetics license, I gained valuable experience by working at spas, salons, and skincare clinics. I honed my skills, learned about different skincare products and treatments, and built a strong foundation in the esthetics industry. 4. Establishing my own business: With a solid background in esthetics and a passion for helping clients achieve healthy, glowing skin, I decided to start my own esthetics business. I took the necessary steps to set up my business, including obtaining the required licenses and permits, creating a business plan, and establishing a client base. 5. Marketing and networking: To attract clients to my esthetics business, I focused on marketing and networking efforts. I utilized social media, word-of-mouth referrals, and partnerships with local businesses to promote my services and reach a broader audience. 6. Providing exceptional service: I believe in providing exceptional customer service and personalized skincare treatments to each of my clients. By delivering high-quality services and building strong relationships with my clients, I have been able to establish a loyal clientele and grow my business. Overall, transitioning from the military to the esthetics business was a challenging but fulfilling process that allowed me to pursue my passion for skincare and beauty and build a successful career in the beauty industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was establishing myself as a new esthetician in a competitive industry. I had to work hard to build a loyal clientele and differentiate myself from other estheticians in the area. I learned the importance of networking, marketing, and providing exceptional customer service to attract and retain clients. Setting up my business taught me valuable lessons about the importance of organization, time management, and financial planning. I had to navigate the complexities of running a small business, from managing expenses and bookkeeping to creating a welcoming and professional environment for my clients.

I am a solo small business licensed esthetician with a passion for skincare and helping my clients achieve healthy, glowing skin. What sets me apart from others is my dedication to providing personalized and results-driven treatments tailored to each individual’s unique skincare needs. I believe in taking a holistic approach to skincare, focusing on both the internal and external factors that can affect the health of the skin. I am most proud of the relationships I have built with my clients and the positive impact I have had on their skin and self-confidence. It is incredibly rewarding to see my clients leave my studio feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and more confident in their own skin. My services include body waxing, facials, and body treatments.
