Today we’d like to introduce you to Avier Ashby.
Hi Avier, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Avier the Owner of Only by Avier Hair and Boutique. I was born and raised in Dallas Texas then later graduated from Lancaster Highschool where I received my diploma and cosmetology license. Later I pursued my education at northeast Texas community college to major in business management and accounting. I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 7 years and taking on fun hair tasks for 10 years now. My dream is to expand my business and take on more events such as weddings, concerts, out-of-state/country travels, and more. I love being able to do what I love and have fun doing so as well. I started becoming more amused by the hair industry by watching my great-grandmother do her clients and operate her salon while I was a child. Her passing away, only made me want to go harder for what I’m doing with my career and keeps me focused. My ambition for the beauty industry is growing stronger and stronger. I can honestly thank God for all my good and bad passing along the way. Staying dedicated and consistent were the 2 biggest things that keep me going as well as hard work and patience. With a business, it can be easy to become discouraged however you can overcome those battles by remembering what you’re doing this for and your main goal. My personal advice to everyone reading this is to keep pushing your business and only surround yourself with positive motivated people to keep your mental saine. Even on your bad days, it’s always important to smile and work on yourself daily.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Only by Avier Hair & Boutique was established in 2015, I specialize in silk presses, scalp treatments/stimulation treatment, Color services, sew-ins, bonded styles, loc retwist, starter Locs, wig installs and most natural styles, and more. On the boutique side, I offer clothing, hair, and accessories. What makes me different from other stylists is that I care for natural hair and actually use more natural resources for your hair like oranges, Aloe Vera, and other fruits. I try to keep all of my clients on a natural hair journey without chemicals. I’m proud of how far I have come with my career and the new opportunities that are on the way. With my business, I’m always looking out for the community and often offer specials on services as well as a giveaway around holiday time and back-to-school time. What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was going to Disney World and Disneyland with my family as child. However my best memories was spent with my talented grandmother who taught me so much about the hair industry. We would have our hair lesson days were ill watch her work and practice. Thanks to her im able to use a hotcomb and do a bomb roller set ,Best times of my whole life!!!
