Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Moore.
Hi Brittany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Plushed86’s main goal is to first offer awesome, 1st class customer service to all we service and bring you the latest fashions that are true to size.
Our Founder Brittany is a wife, mother of two Ausome girls who have Autism. I am an Ausome mom and hope to bring autism awareness to all one day. Those girls make me stronger every day. I have been a Plush girl most of all my adult life and it has always been hard for me to find things that were true to size and a model that looks like myself. I wanted to provide that for my customers. I wanted you to be able to see a real body and feel comfortable with your purchase.
More often than not, I couldn’t find many pieces that were true to size. I would buy something and it would end up in the closet as a What if, I can fit this at a later date. To ultimately end up giving it away, which means I lost money. With wanting to create an atmosphere in which my customer feels comfortable and help create styles in which you can stand out and enjoy what you have on, is how Plushed86 was born.
I am originally from Chicago, IL and we are now located near Dallas, TX and we are catering to Plus size women around the United States. We are aiming to please and we know everyone has their own style and are tired of looking at floral print in your local stores. Our goal is to make you happy on date night, girl’s night, and your day to day with being comfortable yet stylish in your Plushed86.
Thanks so much for choosing us to service you and becoming a Plushed Boss.
Everyone loves a Plushed girl!!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has been such a learning experience and I am grateful for it every day. My initial start of business, I was focused on the number of pieces I sold. Pretty much focusing on the wrong thing. With growing, I got more focused on the intent of everything I did. As I grew and invest in my business, I come to learn terms such as target audience. What is my why, who am I servicing. This is no easy task trying to figure out what your customers like vs what they don’t like. As everything you test is money and labor spent growing to thrive. One thing I would say I am still trying to conquer is marketing and getting my content in front of the right people. This comes back to investing in myself and my business and learning strategies to move things forward. With anything, you must put in the work. I didn’t come into this thinking this would be “easy”. I knew that I would have to grind and there would many sleepless nights. I am happy for each struggle as I learn from them.
I’ve had launched pieces that didn’t move at all. Where I have to go back to the drawing board. I’ve had sleepless nights. I’ve had photoshoots that last all day. I am the content creator, the customer service manager, the Curator of all pieces, I ship all items. This can be challenging in itself. It’s all very much worth it to me and drives me to learn even more about the business, about my customers, what they like and don’t like. I’m in this for the long road. I love what I do.
I have my why when challenges come my way. My girls. On top of being a mom, wife, sister, and friend. I am a mom of two kids with autism. They take great patience and time. Both diagnosed with Autism at two years old. This has been a journey in itself and they push me to face anything and figure it out. I want them to be able to look up and know, no matter what I gave it my all and tried my best no matter how challenging things were.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Self Care
I have learned while going through the Covid-19 Crisis that Self Care is so important. I try to make sure I get adequate rest as much as I can. This can be hard, as I am a workaholic.
Taking a break from social media, this is something that I try to do, although my business is on social media. It’s very important to focus on self. Reading I love to read and came back to my love of reading during this Pandemic. Taking a break from social media, I have also dedicated more time to working out. We have turned our garage into a gym to number one stay safe and focus on becoming stronger and healthier.
A major lesson that I have learned is that family is everything. I have always been very family-oriented and this dynamic just made us even stronger.
