Hi Daren, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Daren Williams, I am 1/3 owner and CEO of Premier Vibez LLC. Premier Vibez is a mobile Hookah Lounge servicing all events, from day parties, nightlife, weddings, clubs, and bars in the Dallas Fort Worth area. I was born and raised by my mother and Grandmother in Scotland Square apartments located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was a little ruff growing up there, from being exposed to fights, shootouts, drugs, burglaries, and deaths. I went to Scotlandville High School but I graduated from Istrouma High School due to being expelled during the second semester of my senior year, but I still graduated on time. Shout out to my mother, my father, my uncle, my aunts on both sides of the family, my cousins, my godparents, godbrother, and my actual sister and brother for pushing me to remain focused during my times of despair. After high school, I did not know what I wanted to be in life besides a detective or lawyer to protect and keep my mother out of jail. Once my father and grandmother died during my senior year in college, my uncle told me to go to college and be the man they wanted me to be.
Soon after I graduated high school, I received a scholarship to go to Texas College in Tyler, Texas. Where I attended, partied, fought, was arrested, grew as a man, joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. During my time of partying, I was introduced to a Hookah for the first time by may Phrat brother and business partner Lance McCullers and fell in love with the hookah experience. From that moment on I knew I was going to start a hookah business. I was throwing house hookah parties where I started to test flavors and get the knowledge I needed to give an experience like non-other. Once I graduated college, I started working for the state as a CPS investigator. In Smith County, Texas. After four long years of that, I transferred to Denton County to work for the state of course and pursue my Hookah dreams. I worked for Denton County CPS for one year and I knew I wanted more for myself. I quit CPS and started my business legally and Thus, Premier Vibez Hookah LLC was born in 2019 and we have been providing unparallel hookah experiences since.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was never a smooth road to get here where I am now. The struggles that I faced were learning flavors, how each one of them tasted, how they blended together, what to use if something broke, how to make more smoke, product, the perfect style of hookah, finances, business plans, and even writing contracts.
