Today we’d like to introduce you to Dia Moraru.
Hi Dia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Moldova, a tiny country in Eastern Europe, bordering with Romania and Ukraine. At 23 years old I moved to the United States with $500 in my pocket and a big dream of building a better life. Dallas has been home since 2010, and it’s the city where I truly grew up — personally and professionally. Since then, I have built a family, a home, acquired an MBA from the local Southern Methodist University and over 15 years of experience in marketing, events and social media.
A few years ago, I decided to walk away from my corporate career and go all in on real estate. It was something my husband had suggested I do long before my MBA days, but like many people, I played it safe for a while before taking the leap.
I wanted a career that blended my love for numbers with my passion for interior design, renovations, and redecorating — which has always been part of my love affair with real estate. I also wanted real human connection and the freedom to build something that was truly my own.
Today, I help clients across the Dallas–Fort Worth area make confident, informed decisions, and I truly consider it a privilege to guide them through both the financial and emotional sides of their real estate journey.
Outside of work, I’m a wife, a mom of two boys, a proud cat and dog lover and a world traveler.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think big changes and real growth are ever smooth. I actually believe we have to struggle and be uncomfortable in order to grow — it’s a mindset I adopted a long time ago.
Leaving everything and everyone I knew behind and moving alone across the ocean to a new country was anything but easy. But looking back, I can honestly say it was a deeply fulfilling journey that shaped who I am today.
One of my biggest struggles was realizing that I had to take a few steps back before I could move forward. Before moving to the U.S., I was working for a consulting company. When I arrived here, I started out as a salesperson at a mall. It was humbling, and at times discouraging, but it also taught me resilience, grit, and how to bet on myself even when the path didn’t look glamorous.
I learned that it’s supposed to be hard — and that lesson has stayed with me. I tell my boys the same every day, life isn’t meant to be easy, whether they’re playing in soccer tournaments, learning chess, or practicing piano.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work with buyers, sellers, and investors across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. I take pride in helping people make smart, informed, and confident decisions about one of the biggest investments of their lives — whether it’s their home, a rental property, or a flip.
What I’m really known for is being highly data-driven, thanks to my degree in business analytics, while still remaining people-focused. I don’t believe in guesswork or pressure tactics. I run the numbers, study the market, explain the options, and help my clients understand not just what they’re doing, but what and if it makes sense for their goals short term and long term.
I care deeply about the human side of real estate — the emotions, the fears, the excitement, and the life changes that come with it. I was once a first-time homebuyer too, and later a first-time seller. I bought my first home only three years after moving to this country, and I went through all the emotions: fear, anxiety, doubt. That’s why I love being there for my clients every step of the way.
I also have a big passion for interior design and renovations, so I naturally love helping clients visualize potential, make smart upgrade decisions, and think long-term about value — whether they’re buying a fixer-upper, a new build, or preparing a home for sale.
I treat my clients like people, not transactions. I’m not afraid to point out a bad deal or a house that’s not worth the investment. I see my role as a long-term real estate advisor, not just someone who opens doors and writes contracts.
I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built and the community around my business. My brand is rooted in education, honesty, and empowerment. I create educational content, host workshops and webinars, and share real-life stories to help people understand the market, avoid costly mistakes, and feel more confident navigating real estate — even before they’re ready to buy or sell.
What I want readers to know is that working with me isn’t about being sold to. It’s about being guided, educated, and supported. Whether someone is buying their first home, upgrading to their next one, or investing for the future, my goal is always the same: to help them make a decision they’ll feel good about not just today, but years from now.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Oh yes — quite a few!
For personal development, I always recommend the book Atomic Habits. It helps how one thinks about consistency, discipline, and long-term growth. We all know, daily habits really do compound into big results — in business and in life.
For real estate, I love the podcast Hustle Humbly. It reflects my approach to the business: staying grounded, ethical, relationship-focused. It’s a great reminder to keep things simple and do the work the right way.
To stay informed on what’s happening in the U.S. economy, I’ve been listening to Morning Brew for years. It’s part of my daily routine and helps me stay plugged into trends, interest rates, and the bigger picture that impacts my clients’ decisions.
And for fun — I have to admit — I listen to a lot of true crime shows. It’s my guilty pleasure and my way of unwinding, especially during long drives between showings.
