Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Didi’s Originals Dog Treats is located in Rowlett, TX. I started my business four years ago after I adopted a sweet puppy form the local animal center. We sell in local Farmers’ Markets at the Richardson Farmers market and the Carrollton Artisan Market. We also have a great Etsy site at DiDisoriginals.com. I love baking fresh treats weekly with human-grade ingredients. This year we added a second location in the Houston area. Our markets are at the Main Street Market Conroe and the Montrose Marketplace. As an inventive baker, I enjoy coming up with new and delicious dog treats. My dog, Molly, is the official taste tester!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Developing new recipes always has its challenges. It usually take three or four attempts before I can get a product that I am proud of. A lot of trial and error. I have found that I really enjoy the creative process. I started making my dog treats in a toaster oven! The oven wasn’t working, but now I have a new double oven that is a huge improvement.

DiDi’s Originals sell dog treats with no salt, no refined sugar, and no chemicals. All are ingredients are human grade. We sell are variety of dog treats, such as grain-free sweet potato, bacon cheddar biscuits, and mini muffins. My best sellers are my original dog biscotti in bacon, cheddar cheese, and natural peanut butter. Another favorite are my two kinds of jerky, beef and turkey.
