Today we’d like to introduce you to Dustin Barber.
Dustin , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My wife and I grew up rving as kids. With our love for Rv’s, I was always buying Rv’s to repair, use and then sell. We started out by purchasing our first motorhome and decided to try renting it out to help pay for it. It started booking up, so we decided to purchase our 2nd rental unit, by the end of the summer we had a total of 5 units we had purchased. We ran our rental business out of our previous business, which was a Collision Repair Shop in Denton. We sold that business in 2022 and decided that given our history with automotive repair and since we already had the RV rental business, and we were constantly fixing those rentals, that our next business venture would be RV Repair. We opened our location in Aubrey in 2023 combining the RV rental and the RV Repair companies and have grown like crazy every since. Our rental fleet has gone from 5 to currently managing 22 rentals. Living in smalltown Aubrey, we make it a priority to have a smalltown feel business. We have been successful and will continue to be successful by changing the way people view RV repair shops. We provide personable, honest and exceptional customer service and our customers leave happy with the service they have received.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a rollercoaster! With any business and with a slow economy, the amount of work that comes in can vary from month to month. Some months we have so much work, that we don’t have enough space for all of it and other months the industry is slow. As a lifelong business owner, we have grown accustomed to the up and down rollercoaster, but you still get nervous when business is slow.
As you know, we’re big fans of GTG RV Rentals, Repair & Service. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a family owned and operated RV Rental and RV Repair Company. We provide repairs to any RV, horse trailer and any other trailer. We are also an Rv Rental Company offering all types of rentals from small bumper pulls to large class A motorhomes. I would say what sets us apart is that we treat our customers like family. When you walk into our business your are greeted with a friendly face and a smile.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
We see us outgrowing our current location. The Aubrey area is growing like crazy and we see that our business is going to continue to grow. We have already developed a well known name in the DFW area for RV Rentals and want to continue growing our rental fleet. We are also developing a great reputation in the area for Repairs and have exceptional reviews online, so I see us becoming one of the top names for RV repair as well.
