Community Highlights: Meet Elizabeth Blackaller of Rent it Up LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Blackaller.

Elizabeth Blackaller

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been a stay at home mum for about 10 years and always had the itch to build something from the ground up, plant the seed, care for it and see it grow and bloom. My husband and I started thinking about potential ideas and thought of providing a party rental service, we started our business with 15 chairs and 2 tables.

Every month we saw exponential growth and tremendous potential, we wanted to provide the best customer service and a worry free service for the already stressful event planning our customers face.

We grew from a 15 people event to a couple hundred people events! We are very grateful to all our wonderful customers who have helped us grow, both professionally and personally.

We also like to think that we are contributing to the well of our environment by renting out equipment and minimizing the amount of plastic that gets bought, but instead these seats get re-used multiple times and therefore minimizing the impact to the earth!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
With every new endeavor there are ups and downs. I wish I could say it has all been smooth sailing, but we’ve had our fair share of struggles to keep the business running.

I have 3 kiddos that need my attention and although my husband and I partner up for success, maintaining a healthy balance between business and the house has proven more difficult than expected.

We’ve had to reconsider live-work balance to ensure we provide a great customer service. I’m sure we have also disappointed a few people when we have fully blessed and maxed out inventory for a few weekends (specially Holidays and graduations), but we have now taken steps to secure more inventory.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Rent it Up LLC?
