Today we’d like to introduce you to Haylea Brown.
Hi Haylea, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In a nutshell, I was 60-70lbs overweight, depressed, lost an unhappy with my life. So I finally got sick enough of my crap to do something about it. I started going to the gym regularly 5 years ago and never looked back. Fell completely in love with fitness, amd decided I might as well become a trainer since I spend most of my time in the gym. I was amazed at how much my own personal journey changed me not just physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. It’s like that first day in the gym was the first day of preparation for my destiny, my journey to my true purpose… which is changing lives for the better while I continue to grow and change my own. Deep down beneath the years of self-doubt, second guessing myself, anxiety etc… I always knew i was meant to teach and guide!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh it has not been easy at all. But since it is a passion, I am more than willing to tune in and pay close attention to anything or anyone whom could be a potential teacher. They’re all around us! I still have a long ways to go and a lot to learn but it is pretty amazing to watch something you built by yourself slowly grow. The more wins I get, the more ideas come to mind and the more inspired I feel. I knew it was not going to be easy, but how can we grow with no challenges?
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
There is a species of moth some may know of called the Luna Moth. They are extremely rare to find, especially in the day time. I had found one when I was about 13 years old helping my mom in the garden. I found out a few years ago that they symbolize transformation, spiritual growth, and the fragility of life. They teach us to go for our dreams, no matter how afraid we might be… because like the life of a moth, our lives are short, too. So trust yourself enough, and trust that you too are capable of a beautiful Metamorphosis! I’ve began tying in my teachings on how the body, mind and spirit all begin to change in unison when you take care of yourself inside and out. I learned on my own personal experience how.. as we get physically stronger in the gym.. our mind tends to follow. So many people we see working out are going through who knows what. Or they’re afraid of being judged, or it could literally be the only thing keeping them going. Building self-discipline and self respect makes us unstoppable! Showing people how strong and powerful they can be is a passion of mine. I feel there are too many of us out there that never get to see our true potential due to programming/limiting self beliefs. I meet people in their homes or local gyms in the dfw area. I love showing ways you can get strong in the gym or at home with minimal equipment! I am very patient with my clients, for they deserve to feel safe and know they are not judged but commended for every time they show up for themselves! We deserve to look and feel our best, and self-discipline is an essential building block for a longer, more fulfilling and healthy life.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the variety of different cultures, the entertainment and endless food options. Sometimes I miss being closer to nature but hey, least we have whiterock lake!
