Today we’d like to introduce you to Janis Dockery.
Hi Janis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Janis Dockery, the owner of “Jayys Esthetics.” I have been a business owner for 3 years so far & love every minute of it! I was born and raised in Fort Worth. I graduated from Everman High school 2017. Soon after, I went to trade school to obtain my Esthetician license. Since becoming an esthetician, I’ve always gravitated towards waxing even in school. My goal is to always make sure my guests feel comfortable & their skin goals are met and exceeded! I absolutely love what i do & enjoy meeting new new people and different personalities!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road! I’ve worked for 3 waxing chains. I have experience in speed waxing, sugaring & comfort waxing. Having good management hasn’t never been the case for me. It’s what led me to where i am today and I am thankful for the outcome, honestly. My faith in Christ has always been my motivation to never give up on what I’ve been blessed to do.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Jayys Esthetics?
I can’t say i specialize in speed or comfort waxing. I can say, during my services you will experience comfort, laughter & speed. I truly care about my clients experience with me. The goal is to have every single person in love with experience. I want my guests to look forward to their appointments with me, not dread it. I set the bar high for myself. Just because it’s who I am & i have worked for waxing chains. I know what guests like to feel in those establishments. It makes it easier for me to accommodate them and tailor my own brand. I know my own personality, conversation and attention to detail is what sets my services apart. I want my clients and i to have a relationship outside of business transactions! I am most proud of who I’ve become over these last 3 almost 4 years. I’ve expanded to offering full body waxing and not limiting myself because of fear.
What does success mean to you?
I define success by seeing my client retention increasing monthly. That also ties into happiness. Realizing my guests choose to spend their money me and account waxing into monthly bills helps me know i am doing what i need to. It pushes me to go above and beyond for my guests. Success isn’t bout money for me but the relationships the comes from services.
