Community Highlights: Meet Janna Weaver of Radiant Nutrition

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janna Weaver

Hi Janna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been passionate about nutrition since childhood, when I faced my own struggles with weight and eating habits. After losing weight as a teenager and navigating disordered eating, I wanted to understand nutrition on both a scientific and emotional level. This led me to graduate from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and eventually found Radiant Nutrition. With nearly 20 years of experience, I now lead a team of dietitians dedicated to supporting clients in overcoming mindset barriers and transforming their health.

We take a personalized, holistic approach to helping people manage weight, improve wellness, and achieve lasting lifestyle changes. Our practice focuses on more than just food—it’s about healing emotional relationships with eating and supporting clients through their unique challenges. I’ve always been open about my own experiences with weight loss and body image struggles, and this vulnerability helps me connect deeply with my clients. At Radiant Nutrition, we empower people to feel good about their choices, offering ongoing support no matter where they are in their health journey. We pride ourselves on creating a caring, non-judgmental environment where clients can be seen, heard, and encouraged.

Located in Argyle, TX, we offer in-person and Telehealth appointments to make our services accessible to everyone. I’m proud of the passionate, dynamic team I work with, and together, we help people improve their nutrition and live healthier, happier lives.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest struggles along the way was overcoming disordered eating habits as a young adult. Despite losing weight, I dealt with negative emotions like shame and guilt, which affected my relationship with food. I had to heal my mindset and address the underlying trauma that impacted my eating behaviors. Starting Radiant Nutrition brought its own challenges, like finding the right balance between running a business and maintaining a supportive, compassionate practice. Building a team that shares the same vision and values was essential, but it wasn’t without its hurdles.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Radiant Nutrition is built on the belief that nutrition is deeply personal and more than just following a meal plan. We are a team of registered dietitians committed to connecting with our clients on a deeper, more holistic level. With nearly two decades of experience as a dietitian and a personal journey through weight loss and disordered eating, I, along with my team, emphasize the importance of compassion and support throughout the process.

Our practice is known for its individualized approach. Whether our clients are seeking weight loss, improving wellness, or refining specific habits, we spend the time to understand not only their eating patterns but also their emotional relationship with food, lifestyle factors, and medical background. What sets us apart is our commitment to truly seeing each person for who they are and where they are on their health journey. We offer two-hour initial appointments because we believe in taking the time to really get to know each client’s story.

At Radiant Nutrition, we also pride ourselves on creating a positive environment for both our clients and our team. Each of our dietitians brings their unique personality and expertise, which creates a dynamic atmosphere that’s as caring as it is motivating. This approach allows us to focus on each client’s emotional and physical health, fostering a healthy relationship with food and empowering them to take control of their health long-term. We see ourselves not just as experts in nutrition but as a supportive network people can rely on, regardless of where they are on their journey.

I’m particularly proud of the trust we’ve built with clients over the years, many of whom we’ve had long-term relationships with. Our mission is to help them feel empowered by their nutritional choices and confident in their bodies. Whether they need a step-by-step plan or fine-tuning for their current habits, our goal is to help them achieve a sustainable, healthy lifestyle in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

Radiant Nutrition offers in-office appointments at our Argyle location as well as Telehealth services, making it convenient for clients to connect with us. We accept insurance and provide individualized care for a wide range of clients, including athletes, those managing chronic illnesses, and anyone looking to improve their relationship with food. We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
My View on Risk Taking:

As an Enneagram Type 3, “The Achiever,” I naturally thrive on setting goals and working hard to achieve them. For me, risk-taking is a part of the journey toward success, though I approach it thoughtfully and strategically. I don’t shy away from risk, but I believe in calculated risks that align with my values, vision, and goals.

One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was stepping away from a more traditional career path to launch Radiant Nutrition. Leaving the security of an established role to build something from the ground up was intimidating. I had to trust in my vision and my ability to create a service that would genuinely help people on their health journeys. The risk didn’t just involve finances; it involved pouring my heart into something that might not have immediate results, but I knew the impact I could have would be worth it.

In addition, I’ve taken risks by continuously evolving and expanding Radiant Nutrition. Whether it’s incorporating new technologies like the InBody machine to enhance client services or hosting innovative community events like the Glow & Go Open House Crawl, I’m constantly pushing boundaries. These events, while exciting, always carry the risk of uncertainty – from logistics to turnout. But I believe in the power of community and connection, and that drives me to keep pushing forward.

I also take risks personally in how I balance everything. I’m deeply invested in my family, in being a strong role model for my daughter, Autumn Grace, and in being an active part of my community, such as through my role on the Argyle Farmers Market Board. Balancing these roles while maintaining a business is a challenge, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

For me, risk is about having the courage to step out, knowing that even if you stumble, there’s always an opportunity to learn and grow. The rewards from taking those risks – building a thriving business, helping others, and watching both my clients and community flourish – make every step worthwhile.
