Community Highlights: Meet Janna Weaver of Radiant Nutrition

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janna Weaver.

Hi Janna , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My passion for nutrition started early. I was very overweight at a young age, and I vividly remember the moment I realized I wanted to feel better in my body—not just to lose weight, but to truly understand how food affects how we feel, think, and move through life. I became curious about healthy eating, why certain foods made me feel good, and how to fuel my body. I also became determined to figure out how to manage my weight in a healthy, sustainable way. I started packing my own lunches, cooking simple meals, and exercising—doing whatever I could to take control of my health and confidence.

That curiosity turned into a deeper drive as I navigated my own weight loss journey and later, disordered eating. I wanted to understand nutrition on both a scientific and emotional level, so I pursued a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Louisiana Tech University. From there, I spent years gaining experience in clinical and corporate wellness settings—working with families at Children’s Health, managing teams of dietitians, and developing weight loss and wellness programs for large companies.

Still, I knew I had a dream that hadn’t yet been fulfilled: starting my own private practice. For a long time, fear held me back. But over time, the vision grew stronger than the fear. I wanted to create a place where people could come and feel supported—where they could work one-on-one with someone who truly understood the emotional and physical sides of health and nutrition.

Today, I’m proud to lead Radiant Nutrition, a team of dietitians who help clients transform their health, overcome mindset barriers, and build a life that’s full of energy, purpose, and confidence. What once started as a personal struggle has now become a lifelong mission—and I feel incredibly grateful to walk that out every day through the work we do.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all—it’s been a journey filled with challenges. Running a business while pouring your heart into helping others is both incredibly rewarding and incredibly demanding. There have been seasons where managing the financial side of the practice, navigating the ever-changing economy, and facing ongoing insurance challenges felt overwhelming. One of the hardest parts has been offering in-network insurance options. We know how important that is to our clients, so we’ve made it a priority—but it hasn’t come without significant cost, time, and ongoing administrative hurdles.

At the same time, leading a team of dietitians, supporting their growth, and ensuring we continue to serve clients well adds another layer of responsibility. But every time I sit down with a client—when we cry together, laugh together, and push through the hard stuff—it grounds me. It reminds me exactly why I started and why I keep going. Even on the hardest days, it’s always worth it. We’re in this fight because we believe people deserve access to real, compassionate, personalized care and nutrition support—and that’s a fight I’ll keep showing up for.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Radiant Nutrition is a team of Registered Dietitians passionate about helping individuals and families transform their health—physically, mentally, and emotionally. We offer one-on-one nutrition counseling both in-person and virtually, and we’re proud to be in-network with most major insurance providers, which makes our services accessible to more people.

We specialize in weight loss, medical nutrition therapy, hormone health, diabetes care, performance nutrition for athletes, family nutrition, and more. Our approach to hormone nutrition is rooted in supporting women through all life stages—using food, lifestyle, and functional strategies to restore balance, energy, and confidence. But what truly sets us apart is our personalized, compassionate approach. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all plans. Every person who walks through our door has a unique story, and our job is to listen, understand, and guide them with a customized plan that supports their goals, medical needs, and lifestyle.

We use tools like InBody scans to track progress beyond the scale, and we focus just as much on mindset and behavior change as we do on meal plans. What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is the safe, welcoming environment we’ve built—both in our physical space and in how we show up for our clients. People come to us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start. And we meet them with empathy, strategy, and hope.

I want readers to know: You don’t have to figure it out alone. Whether you’re navigating weight loss, perimenopause/menopause, sports performance, chronic health conditions, or just want to feel better in your own skin—our team is here to help you create a plan that actually works for you.

How do you think about luck?
For me, it’s been about faith, intention, and the people God has placed in my life—far more than luck. I’m surrounded by an incredible support system—both personally and professionally—that helps me stay grounded, focused, and encouraged through every high and low. I also invest in my own growth through counseling and reflection, so I can continue showing up with clarity, purpose, and resilience.

I’ve learned to take calculated risks, but I try not to let fear make the decisions. I lean on prayer and the wisdom of those around me when things feel heavy or uncertain. There have definitely been hard seasons, but I’ve made a commitment to take one faithful step at a time, practice gratitude even when it’s difficult, and never let fear—or circumstances—be a reason to quit.

This mindset, and the people who have walked alongside me, have carried me through—and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do this work every day. It’s truly a gift.
