Hi Jasmin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, my name is Jasmin Pargas. I grew up with my family making paletas. I knew then I wanted to keep the family business running. I went on to college and received my bachelor’s degree in education and taught for 1 year, then Covid hit. After resigning my job, I decided to open up an ice cream business along with my brother. Now I currently work at the business and help people with the buying process. I’m a real estate agent
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been roughy opening a business in the middle of the pandemic. But thank God we have been in business 3 years already.
We’ve been impressed with La Super Ice Cream Parlor, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a co-owner with my younger brother Juan Correa. We specialize in paletas and ice cream
The business started in 1997. We are family owned that established Paleteria in DFW areas. I want readers to know how we started and how are we now.
The business was open in December 2020
A family-owned business that has evolved since 1996. Our grandparents decided to make their dream come true and started a Paleteria La Super in the heart of Oak Cliff. The love for paletas has grown, and now the family has 6 locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Garland, Plano. Passed from generations 3 brothers branched out to make each their own stores. Now two of the youngest grandchildren open up La Super Ice Cream parlor in oak cliff. My brother and I have survived covid era and will continue to grow the love for paletas in DFW.
I started my real estate business in January 2023.
Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to distribute paletas in grocery stores throughout the United States. I’m looking forwards for my kids to continue the paleta legacy. I will continue to do community events and sale real estate.
