Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Haley-Lightfoot
Hi Jordan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Coming from a small town known as Lake Providence, Louisiana my 1st grade teacher the late Rita Love introduced me to dance when she chose a couple girls to perform for an annual event that was held. Ever since then dance just followed me wherever I went. Sometimes I used as a mechanism to just escape reality. Moving forward in the 9th grade I when I became apart of teen pregnancy statistics It was then I had a vision to mentor to girls to try and prevent them from even going through half of what I went through. With a huge support systems and now a teen mom I was able to dance my way through high school and graduate with honors as well. Before my grandma passed we talked and I told her about my vision and she always told me to use my gift and that I was put on this world to help people. In The year of 2022 I started Dynamic Elite Dance Team which I must say went through trial and error because I didn’t know much about running a dance company but here with are in 2024 and I am the proud director of Dynamic Elite Dance & Cheer company which provides a sisterhood and mentorship through dance targeting girls ages 3 – 17 years old and we do also compete in community events and competitions. I also am the CEO of Boujiee Hustle which is an online e-commerce store that sells women accessories
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I must say it has not been a smooth road it was times that I wanted to give up I think I did give up one time but during the down time I kept thinking about my grandmother and how she wouldn’t want for me to give up on my dreams. Dealing with a dance team it’s more than just getting dressed and performing.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart from other teams is that the love, passion , and care is here for the girls and we are more hands on and involved with our dancers. I stand behind my girls having a bond with each other. My teams does not have tryouts and I accept girls with no experience and we work with them and build up their confidence. I just feel like by team being small for right now that it gives them more time for the one on one help as well.
