Community Highlights: Meet Josh Thomas of Lifted Mindset

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Thomas.

Hi Josh, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’m a professional fitness trainer & nutrition specialist under Lifted Mindset Coaching. I created the Lifted Mindset name and concept after 17 years of providing physical fitness training and online coaching services. I wanted to elevate my communities thinking about health and fitness and incorporate all those elements that can affect our health, such as stress, emotions, muscle strength, imbalances, poor nutrition, a weak immune system, etc. “Getting healthy” is not just about losing inches or losing weight. I lost my father (at 57) to a heart attack in 2021 when I was 31. As a husband and father of two young boys, Jax and Ian, I’ve elevated my own thinking and modified my beliefs of what it means to be healthy and fit.

As a top-level competitive bodybuilder, for more years, I pushed my body to the extreme. I used anabolic steroids and excessive measures to compete at a high level. At points, I weighed close to 300 lbs in the offseason and stepped on stage at 240 lbs with sub 4% body fat. I learned a lot- not only from a personal level, but as a professional coach looking to guide others. My vision has expanded through my experiences as my purpose has elevated. I’ve learned that transparency gets the best results. As a coach, I came to the realization that I could only take my client as far as I know for myself. This made me do a deep dive into my habits and lifestyle choices. Now at 33, I’m close to 100 lbs lighter and in the best shape of my life. I’ve helped a couple thousand people take their fitness, wellness, and body goals to the next level over my career.

I’m passionate about uplifting my family’s generational health through fitness, proper nutrition, and healthier lifestyle choices. I’ve seen miracles helping others that align with these same motivations for their personal health and family dynamics.

Generational health has become a focal point for Lifted Mindset Coaching. If we can help individuals change their behaviors and incorporate exercise, improve nutrition, manage stress and emotions, and build muscle and balance, we believe they will pass those behaviors onto their children.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Far from a smooth road, but that’s where true growth takes place. I’ve grown through a lot of trial and error as Lifted Mindset has come to fruition. In March 2020, both of my gyms were shut down, and I had to make a hard pivot to going 100% online with my fitness & nutrition coaching business. That couples with homeschooling 2 boys under 5 at the same time was a learning experience.

We’ve been impressed with Lifted Mindset, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own and operate an in-person training and online coaching business that specializes in helping individuals improve their quality of life.

We help clients improve metabolic health, release weight, sculpt their physiques, and feel amazing.

With over 30,000 hours of 1-on-1 coaching sessions, I know how to get anyone’s results. As a fitness & nutrition coach, I has help clients achieve phenomenal transformations.

I love our brand logo. It’s a brain with a rocket ship. It represents everything Lifted Mindset stands for “Think bigger. Exist better.”

We provide both in-person & online services that priority fitness programs, nutrition plans, and coaching support. We’ve helped clients achieve results from Texas to Saudi Arabia.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Never stop being a student.

I started my career at 15 as an assistant trainer at my local gym in Valley Ranch. I’ve spent more than half my life in the fitness & wellness space. I’m still learning and keeping an open mind to continue that growth.
