Hi Justin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Tech2Home began in 2018 by myself, Justin Fells, after a nearly decade career as an expert audio/video installer. Our purpose was to be the premier source for in-home education & installations for the latest exciting home technologies. We believe that through home entertainment, we can bring families closer together. We discovered how frustrating it was for homeowners transitioning their homes to become “smarter” for energy efficiency, security, and entertainment purposes.
Our greatest challenge was shifting our clients’ mindset that new technology’s purpose is to make life easier and that implementing it in their homes doesn’t have to be intimidating. We make everything simple so our clients can spend more time doing what they love with the people they love. Our latest goal is to partner with homebuilders and realtors so that we can elevate the value for homeowners interested in building their homes around intelligent technology.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a company and growing it comes with many challenges. The greatest one is self-development & accountability. An entrepreneur must be a visionary and a practical businessperson who makes sound decisions based on the company’s resources. Everything that happens directly results from decisions made weeks or even months prior. Learning to sow seeds consistently and having patience and faith that they would sprout was a significant learning curve after becoming an entrepreneur. After a few years of molding my creativity into a practical solution, I discovered that I had to build Tech2Home around the same principles I apply to my marriage, parenthood, friendships, and way of living—transparency, honesty, & integrity.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My most remarkable characteristic is my empathy & ability to adapt and relate to many people. In addition, I love learning about culture, history, food, and music. Therefore, I can apply many other events to how I teach and care for people. Ultimately, I desire to improve anyone’s life that comes across me just one percent more.
