Hi Kayla, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into esthetics began over nine years ago with a passion for helping people feel confident in their skin. I started out working in the medspa industry, where I gained hands-on experience in both spa and clinical settings. Over time, I became fascinated by the science behind skin health and how personalized care could truly transform someone’s confidence.
That passion led me to create KT Aesthetics, my own studio space where I combine corrective skincare with a holistic approach to wellness. I’ve built my business from the ground up, focusing on education, results-driven treatments, and creating a calm, luxury experience for every client who walks through my door. Today, I specialize in advanced facials, microneedling, chemical peels, and holistic skin programs — helping clients achieve healthy, radiant skin from the inside out.
Owning my own business has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. It’s taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of connection & community- values that continue to shape how I serve my clients and grow my brand.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t describe it as a smooth or bumpy road, it’s truly been a journey of growth. My parents always used the phrase “stepping stones” to describe the next chapter in my career, and I’ve really embraced that idea. Each step, every experience, challenge, and opportunity has been essential to getting me where I am today. You can’t skip the stones that come before; they’re what give you the knowledge, lessons, and perspective needed for the next one. I’m genuinely grateful for every part of the journey and everything it’s taught me along the way.

KT Aesthetics is a holistic–medical skincare studio dedicated to uncovering the root causes behind skin concerns. I combine advanced clinical treatments like microneedling and chemical peels with holistic skin mapping to understand internal imbalances that show up on the surface. My approach blends science, intention, and education—creating personalized treatment plans that heal the skin from within for long-term transformation.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
When it comes to risk-taking, starting my business was one of the biggest leaps I’ve ever taken. There was no guarantee of success, but I had an unshakable faith that if I poured my heart, time, and energy into it, I couldn’t fail. I was willing to do whatever it took to make it work: to learn, adapt, and grow through every challenge.
For me, risk isn’t about gambling with uncertainty it’s about trusting your vision enough to move forward. Letting go of needing a guaranteed outcome and holding onto the knowing that I could and would create something meaningful has shaped my business.
