Community Highlights: Meet Ken Herman of SKY EYES

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ken Herman.

Hi Ken, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In the fast-paced world of aerial photography and videography, few names stand out like SKY EYES. Built on the principles of integrity, respect, insight, and excellence, SKY EYES has quickly become a game-changer in the drone industry—offering clients breathtaking visuals and data-driven insights.
Today, we sit down with Ken, the founder and operator behind SKY EYES, to explore his journey, the company’s mission, and what’s next for this soaring enterprise.
Ken’s love for technology and serving others laid the foundation for SKY EYES. What began as a fascination with drones soon evolved into a business pushing the boundaries of aerial data and imaging applications. Recognizing the transformative potential of drone technology in industries such as construction, real estate, manufacturing, and digital marketing, Ken took a leap of faith—turning his passion into a full-fledged enterprise serving clients across North Texas and beyond. “Capturing unique perspectives that transform challenges into opportunities, while showcasing the beauty of our world from above, is what drives us,” Ken shares. For SKY EYES, aerial data and media aren’t just services, they’re powerful tools for insight, efficiency, and storytelling. As the company continues to grow, Ken remains committed to one thing: “Our mission is to deliver cutting-edge visual solutions that meet the dynamic needs of today and tomorrow.”
In an industry defined by constant innovation, SKY EYES stands as a trusted guide—helping clients navigate the shifting landscape of unmanned aerial systems with clarity and confidence. From field operations that integrate seamlessly with existing teams to consulting engagements that build smarter, in-house UAV programs, SKY EYES delivers solutions backed by real-world experience.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any journey there are bumps along the way, and lessons to be learned. I would say sifting through misinformation and negative optics has been a large part of the growth of myself and the company. There are bad characters in every industry, but working with integrity, respect and reputable partners and leaders in the industry are key to making sure your compass is tuned. The landscape is ever changing, and technology evolves quickly. We are always presented with a new model of anything in the technology world, but knowing your skills, limits and tools of the trade allow to focus on what is important and cut down the noise.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At SKY EYES, we believe drone services shouldn’t just look good—they should work hard for your business. While we’re known for delivering stunning aerial imagery, our true focus is on creating real value for clients across industries like Construction, Real Estate, Manufacturing, and Digital Marketing.

What makes SKY EYES different? We don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we take the time to understand your goals, your challenges, and your vision—then we tailor our approach to fit. Whether documenting the progress of a complex construction project or capturing high-impact visuals for a brand campaign, we bring the expertise, technology, and professionalism to get it right the first time.

Operating in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex—one of the most complex airspaces in the country—requires a higher standard of awareness, coordination, and safety. We prioritize compliance, maintain close collaboration with the FAA, and lead every mission with integrity and precision.

With SKY EYES, you gain more than a drone service provider—you gain a trusted partner. As more businesses integrate UAVs into their daily operations, we’re here to listen, adapt, and deliver solutions that make a difference.

What were you like growing up?
I’ve always enjoyed meeting new people and learning new things, but what really started shaping my path was the chance to express my creativity. As a kid, I filled my parents’ camcorder with hours of goofy clips, home movies, and wildly inaccurate “documentaries”—not knowing that those moments were laying the foundation for something more. That’s where I first got comfortable behind the camera and began to understand how technology could be a tool for storytelling. Years later, I’ve found myself in a space where I get to blend that creative energy with emerging tech, and it’s become more than just a passion—it’s a way to serve. Whether I’m capturing data, helping a team visualize a project, or finding new ways to implement drone technology, I’m grateful for the chance to solve real problems using the skills I’ve grown to love. I do not take lightly the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor and consultant—helping businesses navigate this evolving landscape with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
