Today we’d like to introduce you to Kent Davis.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My wife and I moved to Plano from the country of Panama in 2020, during the pandemic with our two kids looking for better schools and a better life. We started the company and it was very competitive, especially during 2020 as everyone can remember 🙂 We had a number of false starts and disappointing hires until we came upon Jason and ANa, a husband and wife team who were originally from Honduras. THey showed us what we were missing and we were able to turn the corner and start growing our business. Today we have 40 cleaners on our staff and clean around 350 homes per week in the dallas and plano.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
finding the right mix, finding the type of client who appreciated what we were offering which in this case wasnt always the cheapest house cleaning but rather a professional experience, wtih people who were going to show up, do what they say they were going to do. Easy billing, consistent scheduling, and that all important same house cleaning team for every visit. People loved that, and we realized how important that was to keep good clients with good cleaners. That was a major struggle initially because we werent asking the right quesitons both interviewing new clients and interviewing new cleaners.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Dallas Sunrise Maids?
I hope that my answer to the last question was helpful for the answer to the above. If not, happy to elaborate.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Jason and Ana have been key hires. They started cleaning for us, then we moved them to the office, and today they are in key management positions. Sandra came along right when we needed her and she’s also been amazing. She’s from right here in Dallas, she’s hispanic american and is just a joy to work with.
Happy cleaners clean better. Maybe this isnt for print but we’d rather lose a customer than we would a cleaner because they are really hard to come by. But when you find them, and you treat them right, they stick around. And when they stick around, clients appreicate the familiar face. makes em feel safe. especially when we are coming into their homes, you nkow?
