Community Highlights: Meet Kourtnii Clark of Embodii Crystals

Hi Kourtnii , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Embodii Crystals with a suitcase. I would pack everything I had in it and set up at events. My very first time at the Denver Gem Show 7 years ago I flew out with an empty suitcase, bought as much as I could fit and 6 hours later flew back home with it. I do live shows on Facebook on Thursdays and Saturdays where people can buy from the comfort of their home; which was a cringy start talking to myself until I finally started getting viewers 😅. A few years later I was able to open up my very own storefront!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Two of my greatest mantras are “The key to success is being adaptable” and “Life is about being comfortable being uncomfortable.” No business runs without struggles but if I am anything it is resilient. If it were easy everyone would do it and there are days I say I want to give up and just work a 9-5. But then I look around and see the community that has grown, the friends I have made and how it has brought so many people together and that keeps me going.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Embodii Crystals specializes in Crystals but we also have herbs, oddities, bones, candles jewelry, incense, altar supplies and more. However we are so much more than the products we sell, we are a family. We have an amazing team Ruby (rubyimmaculate), Scarlett, Oz (Mysticobodega), my mom and sister. Our storefront feels like a home, not just for us that work there but for the customers as well. We are a safe, inclusive space where you are free and accepted for who you are.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
That feeling in the pit of your stomach whenever you’re about to take a big risk…that’s when you make it, that’s when you grow. When you fearlessly take that leap knowing you may fail but you try it anyway. To truly live you have to take risks in life and business.
