Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
At 16, I became a teen mom and soon discovered my passion for lashing, driven by a desire for a lifestyle where I could control my own schedule. From the start, I have always loved everything DIY and beauty-related. After giving birth, I faced many struggles, including surviving sepsis and breaking my hand midway through lash school, but I pushed through. By 17, I earned my lash extension specialist license. During this time, I also found a small presence on TikTok, where I create personal content and content for my lashes. Now, as I pursue my education in esthetician school, I am dedicated to helping people feel beautiful in their own skin and enhancing their natural beauty. My new additive to my beauty business focuses on lash strips, allowing people to feel confident with lashes at a much smaller affordable price, so everybody can feel confident in there skin.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My struggles as a business owner have included engagement and attracting clients. While my business is steady, it can experience slow seasons, and building a clientele takes time, often causing stress and making me question my potential for success. I broke my hand in lash school, resulting in persistent hand pains as I continue to recover a year after surgery. Mental health has been another significant challenge, as I deal with postpartum anxiety and depression. Despite these obstacles, I am beating the odds and pushing through because the reward of seeing someone feel confident in their skin or enjoy an enhancement that simplifies their life makes all the difficulties worthwhile.
As you know, we’re big fans of Mei Loox Luxury Esthetics . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business, Mei Loox Luxury Esthetics, currently focuses on lash extensions, but once I am licensed in esthetics, I will be offering luxury facials, waxing, and eyebrow services such as microblading, lamination, and tinting. What sets me apart is my dedication to listening to my clients and tailoring each service to their specific needs. I analyze face shapes to ensure that the lash sets I provide complement their features while still achieving their desired look. I am proud of the loyal clients who support me and appreciate my ability to create a look that suits them best. I strive to make people feel comfortable, allowing them to take a relaxing nap and wake up feeling beautiful and refreshed.
Any big plans?
My plans for Mei Loox Luxury Esthetics include getting into a suite and owning a one-stop-shop salon with high-quality beauty professionals who can provide clients with all their beauty needs in one place. I aim to create an environment with top-notch services and talented people. Additionally, I want to educate others on starting their own businesses and inspire young moms by showing that life doesn’t stop when a baby is born. It’s entirely possible to become your own boss, continue your education, and support and help others.
