Today we’d like to introduce you to Lashanta Witherspoon.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been in financial services and accounting over 13+ years. I received my BS in Finance in undergraduate from Alabama A&M University then received my Executive MBA from University of North Alabama. From there, I started working for a very known credit union in Alabama for over 6 years then transitioned into being a Senior Accountant for a non-profit organization in Dallas, TX. With all the background and education, it helped my sister, Lateasha and I start our trucking company LLG Transportation Consultant where we assist motor carriers start their trucking company and enforce compliance, but we knew something else business related was missing such as educating about financial literacy. That’s when EPA Financial was launched 2 years later. We knew this was the combination the trucking industry as well as other industries needed, not only to start their company but to successfully expand their business by building and capitalizing on business credit.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road so far has not been a difficult, however, it has been challenging wanting to serve more people and communities but only having yourself as the educator, teacher, coach, and mentor can become a lot to manage. EPA Financial has been registered as a business over a year, however, it is still a new developing business that is moving rapidly. This is why it is very important to have systems, automation, and organization in place within your company until you get to a place where you can afford to hire additional help to serve at a high-level compacity to make the journey smoother and seamless for yourself, your staff and the clients.

EPA Financial mission is to help small businesses create generational wealth through high-level investments, leverage, and financial stability. We believe in equipping entrepreneurs to succeed by educating them on tax-saving solutions, how to build business credit, and how to utilize working capital, so your businesses can thrive in any economy.
Our goal is to produce cost-effective economic opportunity and spread wealth knowledge to every global industry… We embrace and drive change. Too many small businesses fail due to a lack of financial knowledge and resources. We aim to teach many entrepreneurs the skills to create wealth through business credit and investments.
We currently offer products and services that consist of business credit eBooks, miniature courses, and a main business credit course, a 3-month coaching programs to guide students through the building and leveraging process, strategy program where we choose a selective amount of people to do the entire building business credit process for you and soon in 2023, offering a membership or tier program that clients can choose to be able to assist a broader amount of people looking to grow and scale their businesses in the next 1-5 years successfully.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is having God as my savior, good health, a healthy mindset, and having the ability to serve people in need. Over the years as I’ve grown and have experienced life more, I have recognized and realized the importance of things and people surrounding you and defining what truly makes you happy. It is not how someone else makes you feel but the joy, the experience, the excitement, and all that comes with the purpose of serving others and achieving that goal. I find happiness in doing things I truly enjoy now and not what I think will make me happy temporarily. I think it is very important to understand who you are, to love yourself and what you do. Find your what you’re passionate about and that to me will bring you a wealth of happiness.
