Hi LaTrona, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Renee Rich Media Management LLC started out as a favor to my best friend in August of 2019. My best friend, Lonice Stoker, owner of Laced by Lonice Med Spa and Boutique hired me as the social media manager for her daughter and my goddaughter Carrington’s lip gloss line, C.Raye Cosmetics. From there, I did some research and priced my services. As Lonice’s spa business elevated she became too busy to manage her primary page as well. So, I went from one client to the mother-daughter duo! The more I learned about media management business the more I fell in love with the opportunity to create for others. Renee Rich Media Management LLC allows me to combine my years of high-volume retail management experience with my natural creativity and passion for helping others achieve their goals. I started out as a self-teacher by watching YouTube and reading books, blogs, etc. as well as taking free and paid webinars by some of the best in social media marketing. From my corporate background, I obtained a well-rounded marketing education grounded in business insights and exceptional customer service. It was very important to me that as I leaned into a rapidly growing field, that I found my niche and made my media company stand out from the rest. My niche: Businesses that are 10 years old or younger in the beauty, real estate, and business consulting industries. I have found that younger businesses benefit from my expertise the most. However, RRMM services all…as long as we are a good fit. We currently service over 12 clients all over the DFW metroplex some of which are Voyage Dallas alumni.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have only really experienced two major obstacles; I love being in the background! I am actually painfully shy, even though my friends, clients, and even my family may say I’m too bossy to be shy. I have had to get comfortable promoting my business and selling my expertise to complete strangers. The other obstacle is I started this business while working a full-time job! Being a new business owner and a full-time leader in a well-known retail operation definitely caused some sleepless nights and some unexpected limitations.
